What are the causes of headaches in women?

The causes of headaches can be divided into many types, generally there are two major factors: external and internal. Most of the external headaches are caused by the body being infected by wind and cold, moisture and damp heat, while internal injuries are mainly related to the spleen, stomach and kidneys. The reason why women are more prone to headaches is that most of the work they do is related to electronic equipment, so many women are prone to headaches.

The causes of headaches can be divided into two categories: external and internal. Exogenous headaches are mostly caused by external evils such as wind, cold, dampness, and heat, with wind being the main evil; internal injury headaches are related to the liver, spleen, and kidneys. In addition, trauma, falls, long-term illness affecting the meridians, qi stagnation, blood stasis, and obstruction of the blood vessels can also lead to headaches.

Traumatic headache

Including local head trauma, concussion, cerebral contusion, and intracranial hematoma. If the cause is trauma, the symptoms, signs and treatment results will vary significantly depending on the severity and location of the injury.

Heat headache

It refers to fever accompanied by headache symptoms due to other diseases, including colds, upper respiratory tract infections, pneumonia, etc., but does not include central high fever caused by intracranial infection, trauma, tumors, etc.

Toxic or drug-induced headache

Including alcohol poisoning, carbon monoxide poisoning, lead, benzene, nitrate poisoning and oral vasodilators such as nitroglycerin.

ENT Diseases Headache

Including eye diseases such as glaucoma, refractive error, sinusitis, otitis media, mastoiditis, dental caries, alveolar abscess, etc.

Other causes

Hypertensive headache and intracranial hypotension headache; epileptic headache. There is a history of epilepsy, which presents as short-term paroxysmal headaches that recur repeatedly; headaches caused by cervical spondylosis. Including headaches caused by diseases such as cervical spondylosis, degeneration of cervical intervertebral disc, bones, joints and ligaments; neuralgia. Including trigeminal neuralgia, occipital neuralgia; migraine and cluster headaches. It is a vascular headache; muscle contraction headache.

It is often caused by tension, fatigue, noisy environment, and glaring light. It is more common in young and middle-aged people, especially women; headache due to increased intracranial pressure. Including headaches caused by space-occupying lesions such as brain tumors, brain abscesses, and cerebral hematomas; and headaches caused by meningeal inflammation. Including Japanese encephalitis, tuberculous meningitis, etc.
