What should I do if I have spotting during more than one month of pregnancy?

Pregnancy is a stage that women are both excited and worried about, because the birth of a new life will bring hope and joy to the family. However, the pregnancy process is very difficult and problems can easily occur, which brings great challenges to women's bodies and even the integrity of the family. Women face greater risks during pregnancy. For example, problems in early pregnancy are most common. Let’s take a look at what to do if you see spotting after more than one month of pregnancy?

Bloody discharge in early pregnancy refers to a small amount of bloody discharge from the vagina within 12 weeks of pregnancy, similar to the amount of bleeding at the beginning or end of menstruation. The bleeding may be pink, red, or brown in color.

About 1/4 of pregnant women will experience varying degrees of spotting in the early stages of pregnancy, and about half of them will eventually miscarry. If the blood is brown, expectant mothers do not need to worry too much. Brown blood means that the bleeding has stopped, so it will oxidize into brown. Just get more rest and avoid exercise. If the blood is bright red, you should be careful and go to the hospital for treatment immediately; if the vaginal discharge is brown, it is recommended to rest in bed.

Generally speaking, bleeding can be improved, but whether the blood is brown or bright red, you must let your doctor know so that you can provide timely assistance. The treatment is to remove the hydatidiform mole through endometrial vacuum aspiration, and then track the chorionic gonadotropin index until it is normal for 3 consecutive weeks, and then track it again every month until it is normal for 6 consecutive months. If the index does not drop as expected, chemotherapy should be considered. Strict contraception must be followed during the follow-up period, and pregnancy planning should be started after one year.

What to do if the gestational sac bleeds

1. Rest in hospital. If the signs of threatened miscarriage are very serious, the doctor will ask the pregnant mother to stay in the hospital for a period of time to observe the situation while receiving treatment. The benefits of being in the hospital are also obvious. You can check your condition at any time, consult a doctor if you have any questions, and you can also rest assured and recuperate. Wait until your condition improves before going home and resting.

2. Rest in bed. If the bleeding continues, just stay in bed and rest. Except for going to the bathroom, you can't go anywhere else. Just lie in bed obediently. Wait until the bleeding improves before getting out of bed and moving around. Even at this time, be careful not to do too much housework. It is better to continue to ask your family to do it for you. Things will get better after the early stages of pregnancy.
