Menopause is actually a series of unusual behaviors that women experience after menopause due to endocrine disorders. In fact, menopause does not last very long. In fact, once menopause arrives, women stop having menstrual periods.

Menopause refers to the period of transition from women's reproductive period to old age, a period when ovarian function gradually declines. It starts at age 40, lasts for 10-20 years, and menopause is an important sign. During this period, due to the decrease in sex hormone secretion, a syndrome characterized by autonomic nervous system dysfunction appears, which is called menopausal syndrome. The disease has a high incidence rate and more severe symptoms in patients with malnutrition, mental and emotional instability, or those who have lost ovarian function due to surgery or radiotherapy and whose estrogen levels drop rapidly.

Clinical manifestations

1. Menstrual disorders: prolonged menstrual cycle and gradually reduced menstrual flow; or shortened menstrual cycle and increased menstrual flow; or unplanned cycle, period and menstrual flow; or sudden cessation of menstruation.

2. Paroxysmal hot flashes, sweating, accompanied by headache, dizziness, palpitations, chest tightness, nausea, etc.

3. Mental and neurological symptoms such as inattention, irritability, insomnia, worry, depression, etc.

4. The reproductive organs atrophy to varying degrees.

5. Breast sagging, atrophy, frequent urination, urinary incontinence, etc.

6. Osteoporosis, back pain, and easy fractures.

Differential diagnosis

1. Mostly occurs in people over 45 years old, with symptoms such as irregular menstruation or amenorrhea, hot flashes, sweating, palpitations, irritability, insomnia or depression.

2. The reproductive organs and secondary sexual characteristics atrophy to varying degrees.

3. Urine and blood estrogen levels decrease, while follicle-stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone increase significantly.
