Why does the cervix bleed?

The female reproductive system is not only very fragile, but also easily affected by some bacteria or viruses, which can lead to gynecological diseases. Some women have cervical bleeding, which may be caused by cervical diseases, such as cervical cancer, cervical erosion, and cervicitis. Women are best to receive effective treatment in time. So why does the cervix have bleeding spots?

First, why does the cervix bleed?

If a woman has bleeding spots on her cervix, it is likely caused by chronic cervical inflammation. The most common ones are cervical erosion, chronic cervicitis, uterine polyps, cervical cancer, etc. These diseases are all located in the uterus and cause serious damage to the female reproductive system. They need to be examined and treated as soon as possible.

Second, during the period of chronic inflammation of the cervix, purulent secretions will flow out, causing the epithelium of the external os of the cervix to lose vitality and fall off and ulcerate, becoming the most common granular state of the external os of the cervix. It looks shiny and bright red, which is a symptom of cervical erosion. The cervix will be torn during labor, induced abortion or miscarriage. If it is not repaired promptly through surgery, the scar tissue will contract and cause the cervical eversion. If it is accompanied by infection, it will lead to chronic cervicitis, purulent leucorrhea, and contact bleeding.

Why are there bleeding spots on the cervix? The polyps of the uterine mucosa are relatively soft, bright red, and fragile, and will cause bleeding when touched. Cervical polyps can be found during a gynecological examination. Larger polyps can cause excessive vaginal discharge, bloody vaginal discharge, or contact bleeding. There will be a small amount of bleeding after sexual intercourse or straining during bowel movements, which requires examination and treatment as soon as possible. Cervical cancer is one of the most common cancers. Contact bleeding is the most common symptom. Bleeding may occur after sexual intercourse or during vaginal examination. It is irregular bleeding, usually a little at first and then more. Some patients have a large amount of bleeding during the first contact. If not treated in time, it will cause serious harm.
