Cervical erosion is a disease with a very high incidence rate among women and is also a disease that is difficult to treat. Electrosurgical resection is a very good method to treat cervical erosion. Of course, when using electroresection to treat cervical erosion, certain surgical steps are required, and the postoperative period must also be properly handled. Next, I will introduce you to the relevant knowledge about electroresection of cervical erosion! 1. Overview It uses high-frequency electric waves (3.8MHz) generated by the tip of the ring electrode of the high-frequency electric knife. After contacting the tissue, the tissue's own impedance absorbs the electric waves and generates instantaneous high heat, thereby completing the cutting purpose. It can quickly cut the tissue without affecting the pathological examination of the tissue at the edge of the incision. Since it was introduced as a new method for treating cervical cancer in the UK in the late 1980s, it has the advantages of being simple, easy, low-cost, with slice margins sufficient for pathological examination, short operation time, less pain, and far fewer complications than laser and cold knife. 2. Surgical steps 1. Routinely disinfect the vagina, expose the cervix, apply iodine solution to the cervix, and mark the range of the transition zone. 2. Turn on the power, turn the switch to the cutting position (CUT), adjust the power to 6, select different types of ring electrodes according to the nature and scope of the lesion, start 0.5 cm away from the outer edge of the iodine-unstained area, and move the electrode slowly and evenly from left to right or from top to bottom. This way, all the lesion tissue in the transition zone can be cut off at one time. If the lesion is large, it can be cut several times until the entire diseased tissue is removed. 3. The resection depth is about 0.6 to 1 cm, and then a square or small ring or cone electrode is used to remove the tissue in the central part, including part of the cervical canal, with a depth of 1 to 2 cm. 4. To stop bleeding, use a spherical electrode, turn the switch to the coagulation position, and adjust the power to 8. 5. If the lesion is in the cervical canal, such as cervical ectropion, multiple cervical polyps, etc., the conical electrode can be directly used to move 360° clockwise to cut off the growth in the cervical canal. 3. Postoperative treatment The following treatments are done after loop electrosurgical excision of the cervix: 1. Most cases experience no vaginal bleeding or discomfort within 7 days after surgery. A small amount of bloody discharge begins one week after surgery, lasting for 2 to 7 days. There is also a small amount of bleeding that lasts for 14 days. The amount of bleeding in some cases is equivalent to 1/3 of the menstrual volume. These are all normal reactions and do not require treatment. If the secretion increases and has a foul odor, infection may be considered and antibiotics may be needed. 2. The amount of blood loss during the operation is small, and may reach 70 to 80 ml in some cases. The average operation time is 5 minutes. If the lesion is large, the time may be slightly longer. Some patients experienced dull pain in the lower abdomen during the operation, but it was tolerable. You can walk around after the operation without taking any painkillers. 3. Sexual intercourse and bathing are prohibited for 2 to 3 months after the operation. |
