What to do if you have diarrhea during pregnancy

Some pregnant friends will have a problem, that is, their stomachs are always growling. This problem can actually be analyzed from several reasons, such as hunger, diarrhea due to non-infectious factors, diarrhea due to infectious factors, etc. Pregnant women are advised to go to a regular hospital for diagnosis and treatment.

What to do if you always have diarrhea in early pregnancy

1. Once a pregnant woman suffers from diarrhea, the main treatment measure is appropriate fluid replacement.

2. Diarrhea caused by non-infectious factors:

① Do not eat for the time being, and take appropriate fluid replenishment to make up for the water and electrolytes lost due to diarrhea, especially potassium ions, and also to replenish the lost calories. For example, prepare some fluid and easily digestible porridge for pregnant women, and take "rice soup" orally with a small amount of salt and sugar.

② In severe cases, fasting and fluid replacement are required. Take Smecta or activated carbon tablets to protect the gastrointestinal mucosa; you can also take lactic acid tablets or lactase tablets to adjust the intestinal flora and strengthen the body and eliminate evil. At the same time, closely observe the fetal condition and whether there are any signs of premature birth or miscarriage.

3. Diarrhea caused by infection:

① Prohibition: Pregnant women should be particularly careful when using antibiotics, especially in the first three months of pregnancy. Other antibiotics, such as sulfonamides, tetracyclines, quinolones, etc., have adverse effects on the mother and/or fetus and should also be banned.

② Can be used under the guidance of a doctor: Some milder anti-diarrhea agents, such as kaolin and pectin, can be used. These drugs can absorb water and reduce intestinal peristalsis; activated carbon tablets, smectite, erythromycin, and ampicillin are relatively safe for mother and baby and can be taken under the guidance of a doctor. Patients can also be given some microecological preparations, such as Lizhu Changle and Zhengchangsheng, to adjust the intestinal flora and strengthen the body and eliminate evil.

4. Pregnant women who have diarrhea and are about to give birth should be isolated at the bedside according to the intestinal infectious disease policy to ensure the safety of the baby and other mothers. Of course, Chinese medicine has a very good therapeutic effect in such situations, and you should take some Chinese medicine according to the specific condition of the disease.

5. If the symptoms last for more than 48 hours, severe dehydration begins to occur, or are accompanied by a high fever, you should go to the hospital as soon as possible to find out the cause of diarrhea during pregnancy.
