What should I eat when my menstrual flow is light?

Light menstrual flow is a health problem that many women have. For women, long-term light menstrual flow can cause great harm. For example, it can affect women's reproductive function or cause women to develop gynecological diseases. Dietary supplements are a better way to regulate scanty menstrual flow. Of course, different reasons for light menstrual flow require different dietary therapy methods!

1. Weak Qi and blood

Symptoms: scanty menstruation, dizziness, headache, fatigue, mental tiredness, and poor sleep.

Dietary recipe: Angelica, jujube and egg soup

10 grams of angelica, 3 dates, and 1 egg in shell, cook together for 15-20 minutes. Drinking the soup and eating the egg has the effect of nourishing blood, activating blood circulation, strengthening the spleen, replenishing qi and producing blood. If you don’t feel hot, you can eat it once a day or every other day. If you feel a sore throat after eating, you can remove the seeds of the dates and add some Ophiopogon japonicus, lotus seeds, and lilies. They can nourish yin and calm the mind, prevent dryness and heat, and also help with sleep.

2. Insufficient Kidney Qi

Symptoms: scanty menstruation, dizziness, tinnitus, back pain, weak legs, dull pain in the lower abdomen, frequent urination at night, and scanty vaginal discharge.

Dietary recipe: Seahorse and black chicken soup

Take a male and female seahorse, crush them, mix them evenly, and use 5-10 grams each time to cook half a black chicken. It has the effect of replenishing kidney qi, replenishing essence and nourishing marrow.

3. Liver Qi Stagnation

Symptoms: scanty menstruation, obvious blood clots, chest and flank pain, irritability, and depression.

Dietary recipe: Rose egg tea

5-10 grams of rose flowers, 5-10 grams of orange peel, and 1 egg in shell, cook together for 15-50 minutes, then drink tea and eat the egg, which has the effect of soothing the liver and regulating qi.

4. Phlegm-dampness blocking the body

Symptoms: scanty menstruation, excessive leucorrhea, fatigue, obesity, fat tongue, and thick and greasy tongue coating.

Diet therapy:

(1) Artemisia capillaris and lean meat soup

5-10 grams of Artemisia capillaris can be cooked into soup with lean meat to clear away heat and dampness.

(2) Lotus Leaf, Cassia Seed and Hawthorn Tea

Soak 10 grams of cassia seeds, 5 grams of lotus leaves and 3 grams of hawthorn in water and drink it as tea, which can clear the liver and improve eyesight, eliminate fat and blood stasis, and regulate menstruation.

(3) Chinese yam, coix seed, gorgon fruit and lentil porridge

Add 15 grams of coix seed and 10 grams of each of the other ingredients, cook into porridge together. It is suitable for patients with spleen deficiency that is unable to transport and transform water and dampness, and has the effect of strengthening the spleen and stomach and eliminating dampness.
