What happens if you don't rest well during confinement?

Women should take good care of their bodies during the confinement period, eat nutritious food, avoid overwork, keep warm, go to bed on time, avoid eating spicy food or irritating food, and taking good care of their bodies is conducive to human recovery. Some women do not pay attention to taking care of their bodies, which makes them prone to postpartum diseases and other problems after the confinement period. What will happen if you don’t get enough rest during confinement? Let’s take a look at it next.

1. What will happen if you don’t get enough rest during confinement?

1. Impure blood stasis : Not making good use of Shenghua Tang or often eating cold food during confinement will lead to unclean discharge of lochia, which will cause various hidden worries.

2. Postpartum physical damage : In order to ensure a smooth delivery, the body will secrete oxytocin to open the entire pelvic joints, so the muscles and bones will loosen after delivery, and a large amount of qi and blood will be lost, and the vitality will be depleted. When the vital energy is depleted, all the meridians will become empty, making the mother susceptible to wind-cold infection or other diseases. If you do not take good rest and receive treatment at this time, you may not feel any difference in your prime, but after entering menopause, the root cause of the disease may gradually emerge.

3. Insufficient rest : Postpartum joints become loose, and the pelvic ligaments have not yet recovered their previous elastic tension, so mothers may feel muscle and bone aches easily. If the mother does not pay attention to the child's posture and does not ensure that the child rests in bed properly, this problem may be aggravated.

4. Incomplete dietary supplements : In order for the mother to recover smoothly, the confinement period also needs to be tailored to her physical condition and provide appropriate dietary supplements. However, some people do not take supplements according to the stages. For example, they only take supplements to nourish qi and blood in the early stage, but neglect to nourish the liver and kidneys and take care of the tendons and bones in the later stage.

2. What should you pay attention to after delivery?

1. On the day of delivery: a large amount of amniotic fluid, blood, placental separation, etc. will be discharged. There will be a large amount of lochia and body sweating after delivery. After delivery, a maternity pad should be placed under the body to keep the body clean and dry and avoid contamination.

2. Water breaking, day of delivery - within 3 to 4 days after delivery, the mother is weak and should use a size L sanitary napkin to deal with the large amount of lochia.

3. Use feminine wipes or clean cotton to wipe the vulva every time you change your sanitary napkin or after defecation to keep the perineum clean and avoid contaminating the wound and causing infection.

4. Put on the maternity panties, wrap the sanitary napkin, and stick on the three-way Velcro.

5. After the fetus is delivered, the mother's organs need a period of care to return to their pre-delivery state. Starting from the 2nd to 3rd day after delivery, use a belly band to tighten your abdomen.

6. Use a pelvic belt outside the belly belt. Wear it in the front part above the pubic bone to tighten the loose pelvis.

7. When the amount of lochia is relatively less in the later period of postpartum period, you can change to small-sized pads and small-sized sanitary napkins.

3. Notes

The duration of lochia varies from person to person, with an average of about 21 days, a short period of 14 days, and a long period of up to 6 weeks. So the time of care is also different.

During the period of lochia discharge, special attention should be paid to cleanliness and hygiene, sanitary napkins should be changed frequently, and clean cotton, feminine wipes, etc. should be used for daily care of the affected area.
