Will the lower body become loose after a normal birth? Will women become loose after a normal birth?

There are two common ways for women to give birth, one is natural birth and the other is caesarean section. Both methods will cause certain damage to women's bodies. According to the shape of the fetus in the uterus, the doctor will determine the most suitable way for women. Children born naturally usually come out of the woman's vagina, so will the vagina be loose after giving birth naturally?

What is vaginal relaxation?

Vaginal relaxation is a manifestation of pelvic floor dysfunction, which means that the tissue of the vaginal wall or the supporting ligaments and diaphragms of the pelvic cavity cannot maintain their original tight structure for some reason, just like the bags under the eyes or the loose frontal cortex of the elderly, showing sagging phenomenon.

Data show that the incidence of pelvic floor dysfunction in women before pregnancy is only 1% to 38%, while the incidence of this problem increases significantly to between 49% and 83% after childbirth.

Even for first-time mothers, the incidence of pelvic floor dysfunction after childbirth is as high as 70.6%, which shows that the problem of decreased quality of sexual life after childbirth is a very common phenomenon.

What are the dangers of vaginal relaxation?

The normal vagina is 2.5 cm in diameter and about 8 cm long. There are many muscles and ligaments around the vagina to keep it in a certain tension. There are also many wrinkles on the inner wall mucosa of the vagina, which can increase friction during sexual intercourse and give pleasure to both parties.

Patients with vaginal relaxation have weakened muscle strength, loose ligaments, and reduced mucosal folds. Vaginal relaxation is a major reason for the decrease or even disappearance of sexual pleasure.

Those with mild vaginal relaxation are prone to vaginal infection and have less feeling during sexual intercourse; those with moderate vaginal relaxation are prone to frequent urination; those with severe vaginal relaxation experience constipation and incomplete bowel movements.

Will the vagina become loose after a normal birth?

In fact, whether you choose a caesarean section or a natural birth, the process of nurturing a new life itself will damage a woman's pelvic floor, the only difference is the amount and severity.

First of all, as the fetus grows during pregnancy, the weight of the uterus also continues to increase. The weight of this large "bag" compresses the bottom of the female pelvis for a long time. When the pelvic floor muscles are under pressure, the muscle fibers are deformed and the muscle tension will gradually decrease.

Secondly, during childbirth, the woman's body releases relaxin to help expand the birth canal, which may also cause problems such as pelvic instability and joint dislocation. The pelvic floor tissue, bladder neck and urethra will also be damaged to varying degrees due to childbirth.

In other words, the real cause of vaginal relaxation in women is pregnancy, and this problem cannot be avoided by choosing a caesarean section.

In addition, frequent sexual intercourse can also cause vaginal relaxation. As women age, their hormone levels decrease. Even women who never get pregnant or have children will experience natural vaginal relaxation after the age of 50. Therefore, there are many reasons for vaginal relaxation. I hope that pregnant friends will choose a delivery method that is good for both themselves and their children based on their actual situation.
