Darkening during early menstruation

Darkening during early menstruation

Menstruation is a special physiological period for women. Generally speaking, normal menstrual color should be dark red, without any sticky smell, and there will be no coagulated blood. A few people may have some endometrial fragments or cervical mucus discharge, but this is a very rare case. Some women have less menstrual volume and dark menstrual blood. There are many factors to consider for this symptom of dark menstruation in the early stages of menstruation, which need to be understood clearly.

What causes dark menstrual blood?

Menstruation is a special physiological phenomenon of women. Generally speaking, normal menstruation is dark red, odorless, viscous, and non-coagulated blood. In addition to blood, there are also some endometrial fragments, cervical mucus, etc. However, many women will have abnormal menstruation, such as less menstrual volume or dark menstruation. So, what is the reason for dark menstruation?

A large proportion of women with dark menstrual blood suffer from improper menstrual care, such as drinking, smoking, or engaging in strenuous activities during menstruation, not paying attention to rest, staying up late during menstruation, or having sex without restraint, etc., which can cause dark menstrual blood during menstruation.

Gynecological inflammations such as pelvic inflammatory disease, endometritis, and salpingitis can also cause poor menstrual blood outflow from the uterus, leading to menstrual blood accumulation in the uterine cavity, which appears as black menstrual blood.

Female endocrine disorders or too many miscarriages can disrupt the normal menstrual cycle and reduce estrogen levels, resulting in congestion of menstrual blood and dark menstrual blood. Or reproductive system tumors or developmental abnormalities may cause dark menstrual blood.

In order to prevent abnormal menstruation, women must maintain a happy mood. If they experience back pain, lower abdominal distension, emotional instability, etc. during menstruation, they must learn to self-regulate and pay attention to personal warmth. They must not have sexual intercourse during menstruation to avoid retrograde menstrual blood and cause diseases such as pelvic endometriosis. Be careful to avoid eating raw, cold, sour, spicy and other irritating foods, drink plenty of water, and keep the bowels open. If the menstrual blood is black and accompanied by severe abdominal pain, you must go to the hospital for treatment in time.
