How to calculate the pregnancy and childbirth period

Pregnancy mainly includes three stages, namely early pregnancy, mid-pregnancy and late pregnancy. In the late pregnancy, it will be getting closer and closer to the due date. The so-called due date is the time period when the pregnant woman is expected to give birth. There is a certain method to calculate the expected date of delivery. For example, add nine to the month of the last menstrual period, then subtract three, and add seven for the days. This calculation method is relatively scientific, but of course it still needs to be confirmed by a doctor.

How to calculate the pregnancy and childbirth period

1. The method to calculate the expected date of delivery is to add 9 or subtract 3 from the month of the last menstrual period, and add 7 to the day. If the lunar calendar is used for calculation, the month is calculated in the same way, but 14 is added to the day. The general date of fetal movement is around 18 to 20 weeks after pregnancy. Add 20 weeks to calculate the approximate due date.

2. Calculation of due date: It is difficult for every pregnant woman to accurately determine the time of conception. Therefore, medical regulations stipulate that the due date is calculated from the first day of the last menstrual period. The entire pregnancy period is 280 days, or 10 months of gestation. If you cannot remember the date of your last menstrual period, you can make an approximate calculation based on the date of fetal movement.

What to do if the pregnancy period exceeds the time limit

1. Don’t be too nervous. Even if the gestational age is accurate, delivery within two weeks after the due date will have little impact on the mother and baby, but you should pay attention to fetal movements. Fetal movement monitoring is the best means of self-monitoring in late pregnancy and can reflect the survival status of the fetus in the uterus.

2. If the fetal movement is less than 3 times per hour or less than 20 times within 12 hours, or the fetal movement weakens, you need to go to the hospital for further examination immediately. The doctor will decide the timing of delivery based on the situation. Strengthen prenatal examinations, shorten the intervals between examinations, keep in touch with the doctor at any time, inform him of the intrauterine fetal movement, and follow up the amniotic fluid volume with B-ultrasound.

If you want to calculate your due date, you must first look at your pregnancy date and count from the beginning. It is very important for pregnant women to calculate the due date accurately. If they know it is early, they can prepare things for delivery in advance, and if there are any physical reactions, they can know in time whether it is a prenatal reaction. So no matter what, you must calculate the due date carefully.
