Cervical dilation

Cervical dilation

The cervix of a normal woman is in a closed state. When a woman has cervical pain, she can often notice it at the first time. At this time, she needs to go to the hospital for diagnosis. Some women find that their cervical dilation occurs during the diagnosis process. Most women are confused about this state of cervical dilation. So what causes cervical dilation?

What causes cervical dilation?

Causes of acute endometritis:

The infection can be caused by a sexually transmitted disease, but sometimes it occurs without an obvious cause.

It is mainly bacterial infection, and the types of infectious bacteria include: Staphylococcus, Escherichia coli, Streptococcus, anaerobic bacteria, and gonorrhea. In addition, there are infections with pathogens such as mycoplasma.

According to the infecting pathogens, it can be divided into tuberculous and non-tuberculous types.

Tuberculous endometritis is caused by infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis and is often secondary to fallopian tube tuberculosis.

Non-tuberculous endometritis is more common and is caused by infection with general pathogens. It is common during menstruation, abortion and after delivery: such as retained placenta and fetal membranes during delivery, sexual intercourse during menstruation, prolonged uterine bleeding, infection from incomplete abortion, gynecological examinations without strict disinfection, ascending infection from intrauterine operations such as artificial abortion and various vaginal surgeries, ascending infection from cervicitis, ascending infection from vaginitis, and infection caused by endometrial polyps or submucosal myoma necrosis.

Endometritis is caused by bacteria that travel up the vagina, cervix, or down the fallopian tubes and through the lymphatic system to the endometrium. Most of them are caused by ascending from the vagina and cervix.

Under normal circumstances, the female vagina is acidic and the cervix has a mucus plug, which is the body's physiological barrier that can resist bacterial invasion. However, under special circumstances, such as menstruation, childbirth, after abortion and various uterine operations, this barrier function is weakened or even disappears, which can easily cause bacterial invasion and cause endometritis. In addition, lack of attention to personal hygiene, sexual intercourse during menstruation and heterosexual intercourse with people with sexually transmitted diseases are also prone to this disease. Elderly women are prone to senile vaginitis and further develop endometritis due to decreased estrogen in the body, decreased vaginal acidity and reduced cervical mucus plug.
