Retracted Nipple Correction

Retracted Nipple Correction

Adolescent girls should pay special attention to protecting their breasts, because adolescence is an important period of breast development for girls. If you do not pay attention to breast protection during this period, a series of breast problems may occur, and some girls may experience the symptom of retracted nipples. Although inverted nipples will not have a big impact on normal life, they will have a great impact on the appearance of the breasts. So can inverted nipples be corrected?

How to correct inverted nipples

Invagination usually occurs bilaterally, but can also occur unilaterally. If an inverted nipple can be retracted with a little squeezing or pulling, it is called mild inverted nipple, also known as reversible inverted nipple. This type of inverted nipple can be corrected through non-surgical conservative treatment, and the best time to treat it is before marriage or in early pregnancy. Specific methods include manual traction and instrument traction. Severe invagination may require surgical traction.

1. Manual traction. Adolescence is an important period for breast development and also an important period for correcting inverted nipples. Regularly pulling the nipples can make the breasts protrude, increase the supporting strength of the surrounding skin, and play a "shaping" role. Several times a day. Over time, the nipples will naturally bulge outward. If you can't pull it out, push the skin of the breast near the nipple outwards first.

2. Attraction therapy. After pregnancy, use a breast pump to suck the nipples several times a day, using the negative pressure to cause the nipples to bulge.

3. Use a nipple corrector. It is a method of treating flat or inverted nipples. It is effective for mild and moderate nipple inversion.

4. Surgical treatment. It is designed for cases where the degree of inversion is severe and it is difficult to pull it out of the areola by hand. It mainly involves surgery to completely loosen the nipple muscle fiber bundles that pull the nipple inward, and allow the surrounding breast tissue to fill the base of the nipple to enhance the support for the nipple and achieve the purpose of nipple augmentation. This operation requires anesthesia. There are many types of procedures, and you can choose one according to your own situation.

What complications may result from inverted nipples?

(1) Local infection. The inverted nipple makes local cleaning difficult and easily accumulates dirt, causing infection and chronic complications. Exudate will accumulate locally, and some even have symptoms such as foul odor and skin erosion.

(2) Difficulty in breastfeeding. Because the inverted nipple makes it impossible to clean the area, milk accumulates and may even cause acute mastitis due to secondary infection.

(3) Affects appearance. Inverted nipples affect women's appearance and require plastic surgery.

What are the dangers of inverted nipples

1. Poor milk discharge from the mother will cause blockage of the milk ducts and milk accumulation, which may facilitate the occurrence of acute mastitis and breast abscesses. If the mother never breastfeeds, it may also increase the chance of developing breast cancer.

2. The nipples cannot be exposed, the mother cannot breastfeed, and the baby cannot suck milk, which affects the baby's development.

3. The nipple is deeply sunken in the skin of the areola, and some depressions cannot be cleaned for a long time. The released substances and pollutants cannot be eliminated, which emits a foul odor and easily causes inflammation of the nipple and areola, and even bleeding and erosion, causing chronic inflammation.

4. Retracted nipples damage the beauty of women’s breasts and make them lose their proper lines.
