No fetal movement at 22 weeks of pregnancy

Fetal movement only occurs when the pregnant woman reaches a certain month of pregnancy. It is not possible for the pregnant woman to feel the baby's movement in the early stages of pregnancy. For normal pregnant women, they can usually feel the fetal movement clearly around five months of pregnancy. The 22nd week of pregnancy is exactly around five months of pregnancy, but some pregnant women can't feel the fetal movement, which makes them very worried about whether there is something wrong with the baby.

I can't feel the fetal movement at 22 weeks of pregnancy. What's going on?

Fetal movements usually occur around 5 months of pregnancy. At first, the fetal movements are relatively few and weak. Later, as the fetus grows, the fetal movements gradually increase and become stronger. The fetus will kick, punch and roll over in the uterus. Generally, fetal movements are more frequent between 28 and 36 weeks of pregnancy. In the later stage, just pay attention to the fetal movement.

The initial fetal movement is very slight, like intestinal peristalsis, and is not noticeable. As the pregnancy progresses, the fetal movement becomes stronger and stronger, and the pregnant woman feels it more and more obviously. It reaches a peak at 28 to 32 weeks, and decreases slightly after 37 to 38 weeks. In the last month of pregnancy, the fetus grows and fills the uterine cavity, and the fetal movement decreases slightly. Since your pregnancy ultrasound examination was normal, it is recommended that you relax and have regular prenatal examinations.

The number of fetal movements is not constant. The period from 28 to 38 weeks of pregnancy is the most active period of fetal movement, which then weakens slightly until delivery. The pregnant woman's movement, posture, emotions, loud noises, strong light, and touching the abdomen can all cause changes in fetal movement. The fetal movements that pregnant women can feel first appear in the middle of the lower abdomen and often have several different types.

Among them is turning over movement, which is the left and right rotation of the fetus's body. It lasts for a long time, generally 3 to 30 seconds. The turning over movement is larger, and you will feel a rolling and pulling sensation; sometimes, you will feel the fetus's limbs moving, such as punching and kicking, which generally lasts 1 to 15 seconds. At this time, you can feel the baby kicking or jumping in your abdomen; sometimes, you will also feel the fetus trembling, slowly wriggling or like hiccups.

When fetal movements occur frequently

1. After eating

Since the blood sugar level in the pregnant woman's body increases after consuming food, the baby also has a nutritional supply and fetal movements become more frequent.

2. When taking a shower

Pregnant women are more relaxed physically and mentally when taking a bath. This emotion will "infect" the baby, making the fetus more energetic.

3. Before going to bed at night

The baby moves more frequently before going to bed because the baby is more energetic at this time, and the pregnant woman can quietly and carefully feel the fetal movement.

4. When interacting with the fetus

Whether it is the father or the mother, there will be fetal movement response when interacting with the fetus.

5. When listening to music

External music stimulation will make the fetus active, which is a manifestation of the fetus's emotions.
