Inflammation during pregnancy affects the fetus

Inflammation during pregnancy affects the fetus

A woman's vagina should maintain an acid-base balance, because if this balance is disrupted, it is likely to cause gynecological inflammation. Especially during pregnancy, because the female body secretes less estrogen and more progesterone, vaginal secretions will change accordingly, affecting the acid-base balance of the vagina. So how will gynecological inflammation affect the fetus during pregnancy?

During pregnancy, women's hormone levels rise, vaginal secretions increase, and the acidity and alkalinity of the vagina change accordingly. The bacteria living in the vagina also become pathogenic as the environment changes. Vaginitis is a common gynecological inflammation during pregnancy.

Pregnant mothers must not blindly use medication to treat vaginal inflammation. The use of medications in the early, middle and late stages of pregnancy should be different. Some medications will affect the development of the fetus. Do not use medication to flush the vagina casually, because you don't know the depth of the flushing, which can easily cause threatened abortion or miscarriage. Therefore, it is best for pregnant mothers to go to a regular hospital, be examined by a doctor, and then receive standardized medication treatment under the guidance of a physician to avoid the impact of indiscriminate use of drugs on the development of the fetus.

Does gynecological infection have any impact on the fetus?

1. Pay attention to maintaining good personal hygiene habits. Use toilet paper to wipe from front to back when urinating or defecating to prevent anal bacteria from being transmitted to the vagina and urethra. Wash the vulva every day and keep it clean and dry.

2. Female friends must undergo a gynecological examination before pregnancy so that they can detect and treat the disease early. At the same time, if they suffer from gynecological inflammation, it is best for the couple to treat it together.

3. Choose suitable underwear, try to wear soft, loose and breathable clothes to allow the vagina to breathe fresh air.

4. During pregnancy, you should change your underwear frequently and eat less spicy foods to avoid generating moisture and heat, which may induce various inflammations.

Can I have a natural birth if I get gynecological inflammation?

If pregnant women suffer from gynecological inflammation and do not receive timely treatment, it is likely to affect the pregnancy, cause premature rupture of membranes, premature birth, etc., and is likely to cause fetal infection. Therefore, once pregnant mothers find that they have abnormal leucorrhea, vulvar itching, burning pain, frequent urination, dysuria or pain when urinating, they should check the cause in time, and then receive symptomatic treatment under the guidance of a professional doctor to avoid endangering their own and their baby's health due to inflammation.

Generally speaking, pregnant women with inflammation should not be treated in the first three months of pregnancy. If the condition develops seriously, medication can be used for treatment as appropriate after 3 months of pregnancy, which will not cause infection to the fetus. It is usually cured before delivery.

But sometimes the fetus has local infection in the eyes or mouth after delivery. This may be caused by the fetus being infected by a small amount of Candida during delivery as it passes through the birth canal. The doctor will treat the newborn immediately, so pregnant mothers do not need to worry too much.
