What should I do if my vulva is itchy and the skin is broken?

The female vulva is as delicate as the skin of the lips, and it may become infected or cracked if you are not careful. Therefore, women must pay attention to protecting their vagina. Some people feel itchy and can't help scratching it with their hands, which causes vulva skin breakage. In this case, the vulva should be cleaned, and the cause of the itching should be understood to avoid touching it with your hands. So what should I do if my vulva is itchy and the skin is broken?

Vulvar itching is a symptom that can be caused by various reasons. Local causes include special infections (such as candidal vaginitis, Trichomonas vaginitis, pubic lice, scabies, pinworm disease), chronic vulvar malnutrition, drug allergies or chemical stimulation, bad hygiene habits, skin diseases, etc. Patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes, jaundice, leukemia, vitamin A deficiency, vitamin B deficiency, etc. will also experience symptoms of vulvar itching. You should go to the hospital for relevant gynecological examinations and diagnosis and treatment in time to understand the cause of itching. In daily life, do not wear tight pants, close the private parts, keep the vulva clean, etc.

Infected with vulvitis, there are two types of vulvitis: specific and non-specific infection. Specific infections include fungal and Trichomonas infections; non-specific infections include Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Streptococcus infections. For general vulvitis, use 1:5000 potassium permanganate solution for local sitz bath, 2 to 3 times a day. You can use soft soap to gently wash the vulva, but avoid using strong soaps or scrubbing hard. Gently wipe dry from front to back to dry the vulva, then sprinkle zinc oxide powder. If there is ulceration, apply antibiotic ointment or rinse the vulva with 10% Cleanser.

It is related to bacterial infection and you need to go to the hospital's gynecology department for examination in time. After examination, if it is caused by bacterial infection, you can now use potassium permanganate for local cleaning, apply erythromycin ointment externally, and take amoxicillin clavulanate potassium tablets and metronidazole tablets for treatment at the same time. Pay attention to perineal hygiene during treatment.
