Swelling of the abdomen at night

Swelling of the abdomen at night

Many women generally have the problem of lower abdominal distension and pain, but they usually think it is just a normal stomachache and often ignore it. In fact, lower abdominal pain usually occurs before menstruation or during menstruation. It is caused by uterine contractions or dysmenorrhea, and lower abdominal distension and pain after menstruation is usually a sign of gynecological disease. Below we will tell you the causes of lower abdominal distension and pain, as well as other corresponding symptoms.

1. Lower abdominal distension and pain is a manifestation of female genital inflammation

Lower abdominal distension and pain caused by inflammation often occurs in married women, such as chronic cervicitis. The patient may experience lumbar pain, lower abdominal pain, etc., which are especially aggravated after sexual intercourse and during menstruation, and are also accompanied by excessive leucorrhea. If you experience lower abdominal pain, pain, menstrual disorders, and fatigue for a long time, it is very likely that you have chronic pelvic inflammatory disease. In addition, some inflammatory diseases, such as subacute endometritis, subacute bilateral salpingo-oophoritis, pelvic peritonitis and subacute pelvic cellulitis, and some genital tract infections, such as chlamydia infection and mycoplasma infection, can also cause lower abdominal distension and pain, and severe ones can also cause bilateral fallopian tube subcutaneous abscesses in women.

2. Lower abdominal pain caused by other reasons

The cause of lower abdominal distension and pain may also be due to frequent abortion operations and uterine perforation during IUD insertion, which usually manifests as subacute dull pain in the lower left abdomen. Uterine and ovarian endometrial cysts (chocolate cysts) can also cause abdominal distension, especially during menstruation, when the cysts expand and rupture, the abdominal distension and abdominal pain will be more obvious.

Gynecological diseases causing female infertility:

Vaginitis, cervicitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, lower abdominal pain, irregular menstruation and dysmenorrhea caused by various pathogenic bacteria such as chlamydia and mycoplasma, because the presence of inflammatory secretions and pathogens destroys the extracellular fluid of the reproductive system, which is not conducive to the survival of sperm in the reproductive system and thus reduces the fertilization rate. At the same time, inflammation causes adhesion of the fallopian tubes on both sides and causes infertility.

Idiopathic dysmenorrhea caused by uterine endometriosis is an infertility problem caused by adhesions in the uterus, bilateral fallopian tubes, uterus, ovaries, and pelvis, resulting in blockage of the fallopian tubes.

Patients who experience regular abdominal pain and secondary amenorrhea after surgery, or persistent lower abdominal pain after surgery, accompanied by excessive vaginal discharge and chills and fever may cause infertility. Hymen occlusion, hymen occlusion, cervical stenosis, etc., regular lower abdominal distension and pain, no menarche, menstrual blood stasis in the reproductive system, and bilateral fallopian tube hemorrhage can also cause infertility.

Summary: Gynecological diseases are a distress to many women, but many women know very little about them. In fact, the lower abdominal distension and pain mentioned above is one of the main manifestations of gynecological diseases. If the pain in the lower abdomen occurs after menstruation, it is not an ordinary stomachache. I hope that more women can understand and know the corresponding gynecological diseases and treat them in time.
