Will there be a lot of discharge when I'm pregnant?

When you first become pregnant, the amount of secretions increases, mainly because the influence of estrogen causes increased secretions of the endometrium and fallopian tubes. This is a normal phenomenon and the increased secretions will no longer occur after a week. If there is an increase in secretions when you are just pregnant, you should pay attention to vaginal hygiene and infection. Therefore, it is recommended that you understand the reasons for increased secretions described below.

Leucorrhea will increase after pregnancy. Leucorrhea is a mixture of vaginal mucosal exudates, secretions from cervical glands, endometrium and fallopian tubes. Its amount is mainly affected by the level of estrogen in women's bodies. After a woman becomes pregnant, the corpus luteum of the ovary will secrete large amounts of estrogen and progesterone to maintain the implantation and development of the fertilized egg. Because estrogen and progesterone are always maintained at high levels, the glands of the vulva and cervix secrete vigorously, resulting in an increase in semen, which is a normal physiological phenomenon.

During early pregnancy, the tissues of the vagina begin to change. The volume of vaginal muscle cells increases, the inner mucosa thickens, and the vagina becomes easier to expand to facilitate. At the same time, vaginal discharge increases. Therefore, pregnant women only need to use and change soft sanitary napkins more often. If the secretions have a noticeable odor or feel other abnormalities, do not flush them yourself with medicine. It is best to go to the hospital and ask an obstetrician for help. However, pregnant women must pay attention to strengthening the cleanliness of the vulva. You can wash the vulva with warm water 2-3 times a day, but be careful not to clean the inside of the vagina. Pregnant women's underwear should be washed and changed frequently, and dried in the sun to disinfect it and prevent bacteria from invading the vagina.

In short, it is normal to experience increased secretions in the early stages of pregnancy, but it is recommended that you go to the hospital for relevant examinations right after you become pregnant. Only in this way can you reduce the occurrence of problems. I hope this article can help you.
