How to calculate the IVF period

Many doctors will calculate the woman's due date based on the date of her pregnancy. However, for some infertile women, they may use in vitro fertilization. When the male sperm and the female egg combine in the test tube to form a fertilized egg, it will be introduced into the woman's uterus after it stabilizes. At this time, the calculation of the expected date of delivery may be biased. So how should the test tube pregnancy period be calculated?

In modern society, with the continuous development of medical technology, the technology of transplant pregnancy has become more and more mature, and the cost has been relatively lower than before, and most people can afford it. Therefore, many infertile couples will use the method of transplantation pregnancy to conceive their own baby and successfully become parents. Indeed, I was very happy after the successful transplant pregnancy, and a new life was about to come to my family.

However, transplant pregnancy is different from general pregnancy. How to calculate the pregnancy period? The general method of calculating the pregnancy period after IVF transplant is: Usually in IVF, the blastocyst is transplanted on the 5th or 6th day. So the day of the transplant should be considered the 19th day of pregnancy, which is 14.

The menstrual period plus the 5 days the embryo is cultured in the test tube equals 19 days of pregnancy. The gestational period of a general transplant pregnancy is calculated based on the date of the last menstrual period. The gestational period is calculated by adding nine or subtracting three from the month of the last menstrual period and adding seven to the date.

Calculation method of the last menstrual period for in vitro fertilization and artificial insemination: 1. The method for friends who undergo artificial insemination to calculate the last menstrual period is: subtract 14 days from the insemination date to get the last menstrual period date. For example: A woman underwent artificial insemination on January 20, which means her last menstrual period was on January 6. 2. Method for IVF assisted pregnancy friends to calculate the last menstrual period: (1) If the embryo is transplanted on day 3, the last menstrual period date is the transplant date minus 17 days. For example: A woman's transplant date is January 20, which means her last menstrual period is January 3. (2) If the blastocyst is transferred on day 5 or 6, the last menstrual period is the day of transfer minus 19 days.
