Can I still have a baby if I take stomach medicine and get pregnant?

If you take stomach medicine when you just get pregnant, it will not affect the fetus. Generally, if there are no symptoms of miscarriage after taking the medicine at the beginning of pregnancy, it means that everything is fine. However, if you take it between three and eight weeks of pregnancy, it may affect the fetus, because the fetus is differentiating organs at this time. If you do not want to have an artificial abortion, you must do more examinations in the later stage and pay attention to the condition of the fetus at any time.

(1) Follow the “all or nothing” approach within 3 weeks of pregnancy

Within 3 weeks of pregnancy, the sperm and egg have just combined. At this time, the fertilized egg has only undergone simple cell division, increasing the number of identical cells, but has not yet differentiated into different cells, nor has it differentiated into tissues and organs. Taking the medicine at this time will not cause organ deformities, so the deformed baby that people worry about will not be born at all.

If you take medication during this period, you can follow the internationally recognized "all or nothing" theory of early pregnancy:

Taking medicine or receiving X-rays during the third week of pregnancy will only have two effects on the fetus.

1. The baby has been subjected to all adverse effects and has a spontaneous abortion;

2. The baby is not adversely affected and will grow normally.

(2) Taking medicine during the sensitive period of fetal development: 3 to 8 weeks of pregnancy

During the teratogenic sensitive period, the various organs of the fetus begin to differentiate, and if expectant mothers take medication, it is likely to cause serious harm to the development of the fetus's organs. All medicines should be prohibited during this period, including general health products and tonic medicines.

If you are sick, you must consult a doctor and make a careful choice after comprehensively considering all aspects of the mother and fetus.

(3) After 12 weeks of pregnancy, follow the doctor's advice

After 12 weeks, the teratogenic effect of drugs on the fetus is weakened, but the excretion function of the fetal kidneys is still imperfect, and the drugs still have side effects on the fetus, mainly damaging the liver and urinary system. When taking medication during this period, you must follow the doctor's advice and choose appropriate medication.

You can do a B-ultrasound to check your gestational age, and the result calculated by the B-ultrasound should be used as the basis.
