What to do if pregnant women have arthritis leg pain

What to do if pregnant women have arthritis leg pain

The reason why pregnant women experience various symptoms is because of the hormones in their bodies, so these symptoms are very normal. Especially for pregnant women, they often experience leg pain. The causes of leg pain are somewhat different. Some pregnant women suffer from leg pain due to arthritis. So what should a pregnant woman do when she has leg pain caused by arthritis?

1. Many pregnant women will experience symptoms of leg pain and back pain during pregnancy, which is likely due to calcium deficiency. So get calcium from your diet. You can eat more vegetables, such as kelp, beans, eggs, milk and so on. You can also make some bone soup to supplement calcium.

2. Pregnant mothers can also drink milk powder for pregnant women, but do not buy calcium tablets to take. Some bad calcium tablets can easily cause stones in the pregnant mother's body.

3. Pregnant mothers should also remember to eat less sweets. Some sweets such as biscuits, chocolates, candies, etc. may cause the loss of calcium and vitamin B group. So expectant mothers must control their mouths.

Why does a pregnant woman have severe leg pain?

1. Body aches

When a normal human body stands at attention, the body's center of gravity maintains balance front, back, left and right due to the coordination of various muscle and ligament groups. During pregnancy, as the uterus gradually expands, the abdomen swells, and the body's center of gravity moves forward, the relevant muscles and ligaments will inevitably increase the load and tension in order to maintain the front and back balance of the body. Therefore, the muscle movements change from natural to conscious. Some pregnant women who are often in this state of tension may easily feel tired and have muscle soreness.

2. Hand pain

During pregnancy, some women experience paresthesias or pain in the tips of their thumbs, index fingers, and middle fingers. The pain usually occurs at night and sometimes radiates to the elbows and shoulders, and may be unilateral or bilateral. These symptoms are medically called carpal tunnel syndrome, which is mainly caused by physiological water and sodium retention during pregnancy, which causes local edema in the carpal tunnel of the wrist and compression of the nerves. Symptoms usually begin to ease in the late stages of pregnancy and usually heal on their own after delivery.

3. Lower back pain

Low back pain often occurs in the last three months of pregnancy, mainly caused by two diseases, one is pelvic pain syndrome, the other is dense sacroiliitis, rather than any kidney deficiency.

Pregnant women must pay attention to their workload and working hours during pregnancy. Excessive workload during pregnancy will lead to problems such as unstable fetal position. If pregnant women feel pain in their legs, they must stop and rest at this time and cannot continue walking or other actions.
