Can morning urine be used to detect ovulation?

Female friends who want to detect ovulation cannot do so by testing morning urine, because morning urine contains a relatively high level of waste and the test results will be incorrect. Therefore, if you want to check ovulation, it is best to check urination at fixed times of the day so that the time of ovulation can be detected correctly. As for the best way to detect the time of ovulation, it is recommended that everyone understands clearly what to check.

Can I use morning urine to test ovulation?

Women can find out whether they are ovulating by testing their urine with ovulation test strips. However, unlike general urine tests, you cannot use morning urine when using ovulation test strips, otherwise it will easily affect the accuracy of ovulation detection. However, most female friends do not know why ovulation test strips cannot be used with morning urine.

Why can't ovulation test strips be used with morning urine?

Because of the accumulation overnight, the LH contained in the urine cannot represent the actual value. Unlike normal urine sugar testing, ovulation test strips usually do not require morning urine. Ovulation test strips have certain sample requirements: collect urine in a clean, dry container. Urine from any part of the day can be tested, but first-morning urine is usually not used. The best time to collect urine is from 10 am to 8 pm. During the testing process for several consecutive days, it is best to use urine samples from the same time every day.

If the urine sample is visibly turbid, it must be centrifuged, filtered, or allowed to settle before the supernatant is tested. Fluid intake should be reduced in the 2 hours before urine collection because a dilute urine sample will impair detection of the LH surge. If the urine sample cannot be sent for testing in time, it can be stored at room temperature for 4 hours or refrigerated at 2℃-8℃ for 12 hours. For long-term storage, it needs to be frozen at -20℃ and avoid repeated freezing and thawing.

The above is the introduction about whether to use morning urine to measure ovulation. In short, not every woman ovulates during the middle of her cycle, and there may be no positive result during the 6-day test. Some women may ovulate prematurely due to the influence of environment, emotions and fatigue. I hope this article can help you.
