Will mastitis cause fever?

Will mastitis cause fever?

Mastitis is a common female disease, but many female friends do not pay enough attention to this disease. After mastitis occurs, there are actually some obvious symptoms for patients, such as headache, high fever, chills, etc., but not all mastitis patients have such symptoms, that is, mastitis does not necessarily cause fever.

Will women with mastitis definitely have a fever? Women with mastitis generally have symptoms such as chills, high fever, headache and weakness. If a mild patient is found to have acute inflammatory symptoms such as suppuration and fever after visiting a doctor during breastfeeding, stop breastfeeding the child. However, once the disease develops to the point of suppuration, that is, when the breast becomes locally suppurated, breastfeeding on the affected breast should be stopped, and the milk should be drained out using common milking techniques or a breast pump to facilitate smooth milk discharge. At the same time, the baby can still drink breast milk from the other healthy breast.

So what should patients with mastitis pay attention to in daily life? Here are a few points for you:

1. Prevention is better than cure. Women in the later stages of pregnancy often use warm water to clean their nipples. If the nipples are inverted, gently rub, massage, and pull the nipples after washing.

2. Develop the habit of breastfeeding at regular times and in fixed quantities, and pay attention to the cleanliness of the nipples. This is one of the precautions for patients with mastitis during lactation.

3. Use a triangular towel or bra to support the affected breast to avoid impacting or squeezing the lump.

4. If a patient with mastitis has too much milk and the infant cannot finish it, she can use a breast pump or massage and squeeze it with her hands after breastfeeding to discharge the milk and prevent milk congestion.

5. Patients with mastitis should eat more vegetables and fruits that have a heat-clearing effect, such as tomatoes, loofahs, cucumbers, kumquat cakes, etc. Kelp has the effect of softening and dispersing lumps, so you can also eat more of it.

Women should observe their breasts more during breastfeeding. If any abnormalities are found, they should be checked and treated in time. At the same time, their husbands should give them more care and support and take care of their wives' moods. In this way, female friends can recover their health as soon as possible.
