Red spots on legs during pregnancy

Red spots on legs during pregnancy

Pregnancy is a very important period for women, but during pregnancy, a woman's body will undergo various changes. Especially the skin on the body, there will be some corresponding changes, such as the deposition of melanin, or the growth of something. Reactions during pregnancy are relatively normal, but if allergic reactions occur, you need to go to the hospital for a thorough examination and treatment. What does it mean when red spots appear on the legs during pregnancy?

Many expectant mothers will develop red spots on their skin during pregnancy. The red spots may not look particularly serious, but the itching they cause makes expectant mothers feel torn. They are afraid of scratching and causing infection, and they are also afraid that taking medicine to relieve the itching will affect the fetus. The expectant mother is very confused about this. Could these red spots on her body be fetal toxins?

"Fetal toxins" is just a name circulated among the people in my country. If we must call this phenomenon "fetal toxins", it is not wrong, but expectant mothers must not blindly get rid of fetal toxins, especially not taking some folk remedies of unknown origin. The reasons for the red spots on the skin of pregnant women should be found out from a scientific perspective.

If a pregnant woman's skin develops red spots, the first possibility is pregnancy toxic rash. This rash is more likely to occur in short and fat mothers. It likes to occur at the same time as stretch marks. The cause of pregnancy toxic rash is mostly caused by the imbalance of hormone secretion in expectant mothers. It will not cause harm to the fetus.

The red spots may also be papular dermatitis of pregnancy. However, the probability of this skin inflammation occurring is extremely low, and the exact cause of the disease is currently unclear, but it may cause risks such as miscarriage and stillbirth, so it is a disease that cannot be taken lightly.

About 15% of expectant mothers experience itchy skin during pregnancy due to pregnancy dermatosis. Pregnancy dermatosis can cause itching all over the body. Pregnant women who are usually 6 to 7 months pregnant are prone to pregnancy skin diseases. Pregnancy dermatosis only has one symptom, which is itching. There will be no changes on the skin surface. Its occurrence is related to the excessive estrogen secretion of the expectant mother during pregnancy and will not endanger the fetus.

Pregnancy rash is also the cause of red spots on the skin of expectant mothers. Women who are 4 to 9 months pregnant are prone to pregnancy rash. This rash often occurs on the limbs, and the red spots look like mosquito bites and will not affect the growth and development of the fetus.
