What should I do if I leak urine after a normal birth?

In life, some women will encounter embarrassing things right after giving birth, which is urinary incontinence, especially after sneezing, the urine seems to flow out uncontrollably. Sometimes this situation is induced by excitement or laughter. This is indeed a disease in medicine. So the question is, what method should be used to treat urine leakage after giving birth?

What causes sneezing and urine leakage after giving birth?

The inability to control urination and the involuntary leakage of urine after childbirth are called postpartum urinary incontinence, which is what we usually call postpartum urine leakage.

Postpartum urinary incontinence usually occurs after the mother gives birth. Generally, urine leakage occurs when coughing, laughing, or engaging in strenuous activities. In severe cases, urinary incontinence may occur even with the slightest activity.

During pregnancy and after childbirth, women are prone to pelvic floor muscle relaxation and nerve damage due to changes in body pressure. When coughing, laughing or sneezing, abdominal pressure increases and urinary incontinence occurs. In this case, the mother should undergo rehabilitation training in time to relieve the symptoms of urinary incontinence.

What to do if you sneeze and leak urine after giving birth

1. Anal lifting exercise

Use your buttocks muscles and contract your anus. Count to 10, then exhale slowly through your mouth and relax. Do this about 100 times a day and you will see results soon.

2. Contraction exercise

During urination, consciously hold your urine for a few seconds, interrupt urination, and then continue urinating, and repeat this process to increase the tension around the muscles.

3. Chinese medicine conditioning

If the body is weak after childbirth, the urethral sphincter may relax, so Chinese medicine can be used for conditioning.

4. Surgical treatment

If the urinary incontinence is severe and other methods have failed, sphincter surgery can be used. The operation is relatively minor and the effect is more obvious.
