How to treat genital herpes symptoms

How to treat genital herpes symptoms

Genital herpes is generally caused by lifestyle habits. If you have related symptoms, you must go to the hospital for treatment in time. Genital herpes can be transmitted to the sexual partner, so we must treat it together. During the treatment, you should avoid sexual life, pay attention to your diet, avoid spicy and greasy foods, eat more light foods, drink more water, and pay attention to the excretion of the virus. So, how to treat genital herpes symptoms?

1. Symptoms and Signs

At the beginning, there is local pain and difficulty urinating. The mucous membranes of the vulva, vagina, and cervix are red and swollen, with white patches. Ulcers may also form, covered with gray-yellow pseudomembranes. There may be scattered blisters on the skin near the vulva. Inguinal lymph nodes are swollen and tender. Other symptoms may include fever, myalgia, or meningitis.

In recent years, male homosexuality has been prevalent abroad, and infection with HSVⅡ has caused male anorectal inflammation. The clinical manifestations are anal and rectal pain, which is more serious than rectal infection caused by other reasons. Other symptoms include constipation, rectal secretions, tenesmus and fever. Some patients have blisters or ulcers around the anus, and rectal secretion smears contain many neutrophils. Sigmoidoscopy examination often shows congestion and bleeding of the lower rectal mucosa, and occasionally small ulcers.

2. Diagnostic examination

Laboratory examination: Tissue culture can detect herpes zoster virus, immunofluorescence test can show antibodies in serum, blisters contain complement-binding antigens, blister fluid smear examination can show multinucleated balloon cells, and electron microscopy can quickly (30 minutes) make a reliable diagnosis.

The diagnosis is not difficult based on the characteristics of clustered blisters, distribution along nerves, arrangement in bands, unilaterality and obvious neuralgia. Before herpes appears or when it manifests as abortive herpes zoster, neuralgia may be suspected of other diseases and requires attention. Sometimes it needs to be differentiated from herpes simplex, which tends to occur at the junction of the skin and mucous membranes, is more common in the course of febrile diseases, and often has a history of recurrent attacks.
