Is it normal not to get pregnant during ovulation?

For couples who are preparing for pregnancy, you all know that the success rate of conception is best during ovulation. However, this does not mean that conception will be successful during ovulation. So it is normal if you did not detect pregnancy during ovulation. If you don't detect pregnancy during the ovulation period, it may be because you check too early after having sex. Generally, it takes 7 to 11 days after having sex to detect the pregnancy.

I calculated my ovulation period but still didn't get pregnant. What's going on?

Pregnancy is subject to certain conditions. You can't get pregnant whenever you want. Even if you know your ovulation period, you can't get pregnant if there is a problem with the sperm. Necessary conditions for pregnancy:

1. Mature and normal sperm and eggs. Women with normal menstruation will release a healthy and mature egg in each menstrual cycle, and the egg can only survive for 2-3 days after release. Therefore, in order to obtain eggs, you need to master the ovulation time, which is about 14 days before the next menstruation.

2. Unobstructed reproductive tract. For example, are there adhesions in the uterine cavity? Is it regular? Is it suitable for embryo implantation? Are the fallopian tubes unobstructed? Are there any immune-related factors? A healthy and unobstructed reproductive channel is the key to successful conception.

3. Suitable breeding environment. There is a normal uterine cavity and normal endometrium, and the changes in the endometrium should be suitable for the implantation of the fertilized egg;

4. Appropriate time for sperm and egg to combine. After a normal person ejaculates, the sperm enters the uterine cavity and the fertility can only be maintained for 1-2 days. Sperm that does not enter the uterine cavity and remains in the vagina will not survive for more than 1 day. In principle, only one ovary produces one egg per month. After being released, it quickly enters the fallopian tube to prepare for fertilization. If it does not meet sperm, it will lose its ability to conceive within 12-24 hours!

5. Must have a certain biochemical foundation. Before sperm and egg combine, a series of biochemical changes must occur (this is the most complex and important). If these changes are normal, the chance of sperm and egg combining can be guaranteed!

Why didn't I get pregnant during ovulation?

Having sex during ovulation does not necessarily lead to pregnancy, but the chance of pregnancy during ovulation is higher than at other times. Normally, women of childbearing age release a mature egg every month. During intercourse, if the mature egg and sperm meet and combine to become a fertilized egg, then conception will be successful.

Common pathological reasons for not getting pregnant during ovulation include blocked follicular development and rupture or small follicles.

1. Follicular development and rupture are blocked

The most common is the luteinized unruptured follicle syndrome, which has two major causes: pelvic anatomy and endocrine. Endocrine reasons refer to the abnormal or disordered endocrine environment during the ovulation period, which cannot coordinate ovulation. Pelvic anatomical causes such as endometriosis, pelvic and abdominal surgery, and pelvic inflammatory disease can hinder the rupture of follicles and the discharge of eggs.

2. Small follicle rupture

This type of ovulation may be due to the early development of follicles in the late stage of the previous menstrual cycle and their discharge before ovulation; it may also be due to the premature LH peak in the late follicular phase, resulting in ovulation of small follicles. At this time, the quality of the egg and the receptivity of the endometrium are not in the best condition, so the chance of conception is low, and early spontaneous abortion is prone to occur after fertilization.
