Lower abdominal pain before menstruation

Lower abdominal pain before menstruation

This can be said to be a very strange physiological phenomenon, because normal people will go into shock when they bleed too much, but women bleed so much during menstruation without going into shock. However, women will still experience some abnormal physical conditions during menstruation. Many women will experience dull pain in the lower abdomen before menstruation. So what is the reason for the dull pain in the lower abdomen before menstruation?

1. What is the reason for the dull pain in the lower abdomen before menstruation?

Dull pain in the right lower abdomen before and after menstruation is considered dysmenorrhea. Dysmenorrhea is one of the most common gynecological symptoms. It refers to lower abdominal pain and distension before, during, or after menstruation, accompanied by back pain or other discomfort, and the symptoms seriously affect the quality of life.

The dull pain in the right lower abdomen before and after menstruation is considered to be uterine cold. "Cold" is a common cause of disease in traditional Chinese medicine. Excessive wading in water, being attacked by the cold evil of nature, and eating cold food can all cause external "cold" to invade the human body and stagnate in the meridians, internal organs, and of course the uterus. This kind of cold is mostly "real cold".

2. What should not be done during menstruation

1. Do not drink alcohol

In modern life, when entertaining guests, wine is often indispensable. But it is better not to drink alcohol during menstruation. Medical research shows that during menstruation, women's alcohol-degrading enzymes (such as alcohol dehydrogenase, acetaldehyde dehydrogenase, etc.) decrease in their bodies. Drinking at this time is not only easy to get drunk, but also causes more serious damage to the liver than usual, increasing the possibility of causing liver dysfunction. At the same time, alcohol has the effect of promoting menstruation and activating blood circulation. Drinking during menstruation can easily lead to excessive menstrual bleeding and prolonged menstruation, which is not good for health.

2. Don’t drink too much tea

Drinking tea is good for health. Many women have the habit of drinking tea, but during the menstrual period, it is better to drink less or no tea. Tea contains a certain amount of tannic acid, which can combine with the iron in food and blood, thus directly blocking the gastrointestinal absorption of iron and hindering the normal utilization of iron in the blood. Drinking too much or too strong tea during menstruation can cause iron absorption and utilization disorders, and easily lead to iron deficiency anemia. Therefore, it is better for women to drink warm water during menstruation, and it is best not to drink tea, especially strong tea.
