We have heard a lot about appendicitis, but have you heard of adnexitis? Many people may not know the difference between the two. Although the most notable feature of these two diseases is abdominal pain, there are actually many differences between their symptoms. Some people may suffer from appendicitis but may be misdiagnosed with other gastrointestinal diseases. Adnexitis is actually a disease of the vagina. So what is the difference between appendicitis and adnexitis? 1. Symptoms of adnexitis Acute adnexitis. The main symptom is acute lower abdominal pain accompanied by fever. During gynecological examination, there is obvious tenderness and rebound pain in the adnexal area. Routine blood tests can show an increase in white blood cell count and a significantly increased neutrophil ratio. Chronic adnexitis Abdominal pain of varying degrees, the presence of a tender "lump", and hydrosalpinx. 2. Symptoms of appendicitis At the beginning of acute inflammation, the appendix appears congested and swollen, with edema and neutrophil infiltration in the wall, small ulcers and bleeding spots on the mucosa, and a small amount of exudation in the serosa. The accumulation of turbid exudate in the cavity is called simple appendicitis. Because the location of visceral pain is unclear, the patient feels dull pain in the upper abdomen or around the navel, often accompanied by nausea and vomiting, general discomfort, and the abdominal pain gradually shifts to the lower right abdomen. 3. The difference between appendicitis and adnexitis 1. Adnexitis and appendicitis are two different diseases and there is no relationship between them, but the two diseases have similar symptoms, which is pain in the lower right abdomen. Of course, there are ways to distinguish the two diseases. If the patient does not understand the disease, he will not discover it. He can go to the hospital for a detailed examination to discover the disease. 2. The pain of adnexitis is mainly in the lower abdomen, either left or right, but the pain will not persist and will be mild, accompanied by other gynecological symptoms. The pain in the right lower abdomen of appendicitis can be divided into chronic and acute. Acute pain is more severe and easy to distinguish. 3. If it is a woman, the symptoms of appendicitis may be similar to those of acute adnexitis. However, patients with acute adnexitis will have a lot of leucorrhea and even pus-like secretions before the onset of the disease. The pain of appendicitis cannot be compared with the pain of gynecological diseases. The pain of appendicitis is unbearable. The patient will also experience severe throbbing pain in the right lower abdomen and constipation. |
