Mothers who suffer from severe morning sickness in early pregnancy can eat more snacks rich in carbohydrates, such as soda crackers and bananas. In addition, white rice, steamed bread, plain yogurt, lemonade, and watermelon can also help reduce morning sickness. Avoid eating high-fat, greasy, spicy, and fried foods.

Also, be sure to eat small, frequent meals, eat every two to three hours, and it is better to eat foods that are small in size and low in water content.

Another method is to cut a fresh lemon. Pregnant women can smell or lick it. The refreshing scent and sour taste of lemon can also relieve morning sickness. You can also put a few drops of lemon juice on a handkerchief and use it as an emergency measure when you smell an unpleasant odor.

There are also some traditional Chinese medicines, such as tangerine peel which can promote qi and strengthen the spleen, warm the stomach and stop vomiting, and yam which can replenish the middle and benefit qi. These can effectively relieve morning sickness.

In some very serious cases, you can take vitamin B6 or some multivitamin tablets under the guidance of a doctor to relieve morning sickness.

When the symptoms of morning sickness are alleviated, the spirit is improved, and the appetite increases, you should eat more lean meat, fish, shrimp, eggs, milk, animal liver, and soy products, which are foods rich in high-quality protein. At the same time, try to supply sufficient carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals to ensure the needs of pregnant women and fetuses.
