How to judge whether the ovaries are healthy?

The ovary is a very important organ for women. It is an important part of the reproductive system. Female fertility can only be achieved with the participation of the ovaries. In addition, the health of women's ovaries has a great impact on their fertility and physical condition. If a woman has ovarian dysfunction, she needs to be adjusted in time. So how do you judge whether your ovaries are healthy? Let me introduce it below.

Ovarian function is a reflection of a woman's inner charm. The quality of follicles is affected by the ovaries. When the ovaries function normally, the follicles will naturally develop well. When the ovaries function normally, they will regularly provide women with estrogen and progesterone to nurture follicles and ovulate. Estrogen and progesterone promote the development of female breasts and other secondary sexual characteristics, and grow the endometrium. It can be seen how important ovaries and follicles are to women.

So, how do women test ovarian function and follicle quality? Mainly through the following aspects:

Age: In traditional Chinese medicine, there is a saying about women's "seventy-sevens". In the first seven years, a woman's kidney qi is full, and teeth and hair begin to grow. In the second seven years, at the age of fourteen, menstruation begins. At the age of twenty-one and twenty-eight, women gradually grow to their peak physical condition. At the age of thirty-five, the body's functions begin to decline, the complexion becomes haggard, and the hair begins to fall out. At the age of forty-two, the whole complexion becomes haggard, and gray hair begins to appear. At the age of forty-nine, the function of a woman's uterus and ovaries declines to a complete loss of function, which means that a woman is about to enter menopause.

Menstruation: Changes in the menstrual cycle, period, amount, and color may indicate changes in your ovarian function. Delayed or early menstruation, shortened or prolonged menstruation, less or more menstrual flow are all indications of hormone imbalance.

Transvaginal ultrasound examination: The size of the ovaries decreases. The normal size is 4cm×3cm×1cm. When the ovarian function declines, the ovaries will atrophy and decrease to about 2cm×1cm×1cm. If the sum of the number of antral follicles with a diameter of 2 to 10 mm in both ovaries is less than 5, it also indicates decreased ovarian function.

Basal body temperature: Normal basal body temperature is bidirectional. When the quality of the follicles is poor and ovulation does not occur, the body temperature is unidirectional and will not rise. It is possible that there is a problem with your ovarian function.

Sex hormone measurement: Sex hormone measurement is related to ovarian function in terms of FSH and E2 levels. When FSH>10U/L, you should pay attention, as your ovaries have begun to decline, indicating a decrease in ovarian reserve function. When FSH>25U/L, this is also a wake-up call for you to take care of your ovaries. Once your FSH>40U/L and E2<20pg/ml, it indicates that you have entered menopause and your ovaries have failed.
