What to do if blood values are low in early pregnancy

I believe everyone knows that the physical condition of pregnant women is very special and different from that of adults. Pregnant women are prone to encounter some special physical problems, which require special attention. Generally, there is low blood lipids in the early stages of pregnancy, and it is not ruled out that the hemoglobin cell content is too low. This requires special attention and reasonable treatment methods to deal with it actively and reasonably.

What is the normal value of hemoglobin in pregnant women? What is the normal value of hemoglobin in pregnant women?

If the hemoglobin content of adult women is lower than 110g/l, it is considered anemia. The normal hemoglobin value after pregnancy is between 110-160g/l, but it is usually lower than 110 for pregnant women because they may experience anemia symptoms due to pregnancy reactions or insufficient supplementation of divalent iron ions. If a pregnant woman shows symptoms such as pale complexion, blackouts, dizziness, etc., she should be alert, as these may be signs of anemia.

During pregnancy, due to the influence of some physiological factors on pregnant women (such as an average increase of 50% in blood volume during pregnancy, vomiting in early pregnancy, loss of appetite, etc.), the hemoglobin in the blood may be relatively low, or insufficient intake of nutrients such as iron, folic acid, and vitamins may cause hemoglobin deficiency. When the hemoglobin of pregnant women is lower than a certain value, anemia occurs. Clinically, common anemia in pregnant women is iron deficiency anemia and nutritional megaloblastic anemia.

Pregnant women develop iron deficiency anemia relatively slowly, while nutritional megaloblastic anemia develops rapidly and is mainly characterized by gastrointestinal symptoms. Pregnant women with anemia are more susceptible to infection, pregnancy-induced hypertension syndrome, and may cause fetal hypoxia. In cases of severe anemia, the fetus may die from hypoxia.

Serum ferritin and hemoglobin examination in pregnant women are the most sensitive indicators. When serum ferritin is lower than 12 micrograms/liter or hemoglobin is lower than 110 grams/liter, it can be diagnosed as anemia in pregnant women. Regular check-ups should be carried out during pregnancy. If any disease that causes poor iron absorption or excessive iron deficiency is found, it should be treated in time. There are two common treatments for anemia in pregnancy. One is iron medication, such as 0.3 grams of ferrous sulfate, taken orally 3 times a day, and each time combined with 0.1 grams of oral vitamin C. The medicine should be taken with boiled water after meals.

Generally, hemoglobin will start to rise 2 weeks after taking the medicine, and mild anemia can return to normal after 4-6 weeks of medication. The second is diet therapy and food supplements. Pregnant women can eat more foods rich in iron, such as pork liver, pork kidney, lean meat, pig blood, chicken blood, eggs, beans, fresh vegetables, etc. Pregnant women with anemia should receive medical guidance and receive treatment seriously. They should not take it lightly, so as not to affect the health and life safety of mother and child.
