Like menstrual cramps but no menstruation

When it is time for menstruation, we have symptoms of dysmenorrhea but our period does not come, which makes us feel anxious. However, it is important to analyze the situation. There is a type of people who suffer from dysmenorrhea for a particularly long time. They will experience dysmenorrhea 10 days before their period. This is primary dysmenorrhea, which is not very common. Another category of people are those who have a history of gynecological diseases and will experience abdominal pain from time to time, especially during the weak period of menstruation.

Definition of Dysmenorrhea:

It refers to the gynecological symptoms mainly characterized by pain that women experience before, during, and after their menstrual period. It is also accompanied by other discomforts such as lower back pain and abdominal distension. It is often spoken of as menstrual pain, which seriously affects the work and quality of life of many women. Dysmenorrhea is generally divided into two types. One is primary dysmenorrhea, which refers to the presence of dysmenorrhea symptoms all the time and not caused by gynecological diseases. The vast majority of dysmenorrhea symptoms are primary dysmenorrhea. There is no specific treatment method and it can only be relieved through various measures. The other is called secondary dysmenorrhea, which is dysmenorrhea caused by organic lesions caused by gynecological diseases. This type of dysmenorrhea accounts for a smaller proportion, but with the increase of age, the incidence of gynecological diseases increases, and the incidence of secondary dysmenorrhea also increases accordingly. It can be relieved and eliminated by treating the corresponding diseases.

If you feel dysmenorrhea but do not have your period, you need to make a judgment based on the situation:

The symptoms, severity and duration of dysmenorrhea vary from person to person. Generally, dysmenorrhea will occur 7-14 days before the menstrual period. Excluding the possibility of pregnancy, if it is primary dysmenorrhea, the duration from dysmenorrhea to menstrual period should be relatively fixed for the same person. If the feeling this time is not much different from your previous one, it is estimated that your menstrual period will come in the near future. There is no need to worry about this situation and generally no treatment is required.

However, if the pain is intense this time and lasts longer than before, and the date of menstruation has been delayed for more than a week, this is considered delayed menstruation. The main influencing factors are: endocrine disorders, mood swings, excessive fatigue, the effects of emergency contraceptives and other drugs, and gynecological diseases. Among them, gynecological inflammation requires special vigilance. It is recommended to go to a regular hospital for B-ultrasound examination to detect it early and then carry out symptomatic treatment under the guidance of a doctor based on the examination results.

Pay attention to distinguish between dysmenorrhea and gynecological inflammation:

The main symptoms of dysmenorrhea include lower abdominal distension, pain and backache, but some gynecological diseases such as pelvic inflammatory disease, cervical cysts, cervicitis, etc. also have similar symptoms. Therefore, if you rarely have dysmenorrhea symptoms before and the dysmenorrhea is suddenly severe this month, or if dysmenorrhea symptoms occur outside the menstrual period, you should be cautious. It may not be a cold or a stomach upset, but may also be a gynecological disease.
