Is it okay to have sex when menstruation just started?

Women's menstruation is mainly for metabolism in the body and to promote blood flow in the body, so normal women's menstruation will come relatively regularly. During the period just after menstruation, women's bodies will be weak due to lack of blood. During this period, women should not only pay attention to blood supplementation, but also try to avoid some strenuous exercises and reduce activities as much as possible. So, is it okay to have sex right after menstruation?

1. Can I have sex during my menstrual period?

Some people have sex during their menstrual period. In fact, this is not recommended. Sexual intercourse during menstruation is very harmful. Having sex during menstruation can easily lead to reproductive system infection and various gynecological inflammations, increase menstrual flow and prolong menstrual period, which is very harmful to women's reproductive health. In addition, having sex during menstruation can cause the endometrium to flow back into the pelvic cavity and cause endometriosis. In severe cases, it can lead to infertility, which is very harmful.

2. The harm of having sex during menstruation

1. Cause inflammation and lead to gynecological diseases. During normal sexual intercourse, the penis will bring bacteria to the vagina, but the acidic environment in the vagina is not conducive to bacterial reproduction and will eliminate the bacteria. During the menstrual period, the acidic environment in the vagina is diluted due to the discharge of menstrual blood, and the resistance is weakened. Because the blood is rich in nutrients, bacteria can multiply in large numbers. During menstruation, the endometrium sheds to form a wound, and the cervix is also slightly dilated. These pathogenic "group bacteria" swarm upward, pass through the cervix, enter the uterine cavity, and multiply in large numbers on the wound surface of the uterine cavity, which can easily cause vaginitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, metritis, etc., bringing disease and pain to women.

2. Cause infertility or ectopic pregnancy. When having sex during menstruation, the negative pressure created during intercourse causes a large number of pathogens to be "sucked" into the fallopian tubes. Pathogenic bacteria multiply in the fallopian tubes, causing salpingitis, which causes swelling, necrosis, and suppuration.

3. Aggravate the discomfort symptoms during menstruation. When menstruation comes, the endometrium bleeds, part of the endometrium ruptures and falls off, and some blood vessels are opened and exposed. At this time, sexual intercourse will increase the menstrual volume due to local stimulation, and will also cause heaviness and pain in the lower abdomen. At the same time, it will prolong the days of menstruation and aggravate the discomfort symptoms of menstruation.
