If it hurts every few minutes, it means I'm about to give birth.

Before giving birth, pregnant women usually experience abdominal pain and many other symptoms of childbirth. Therefore, pregnant women must understand these symptoms of childbirth so that they can make preparations. If they prepare for childbirth, they will inevitably be in a hurry and may easily cause accidents, posing a threat to the safety of the fetus. So, does the pain every few minutes mean that the baby is about to be born?

First, if you have pain every few minutes, does it mean you are about to give birth? Many new mothers are curious about the birth process. Under what circumstances do you consider labor imminent and require hospitalization? Doctors often tell pregnant women that if you have pain every five minutes, it means you are about to give birth and you need to be hospitalized. So in this case, the birth is imminent. From the time you have pain every five minutes to the birth of the baby, it takes about 12-14 hours for a primipara and about 7-9 hours for a multipara.

Second, signs before delivery: a significant decrease in fetal movement. After full term, as the amount of amniotic fluid decreases and the fetal head enters the pelvis, most expectant mothers will feel that fetal movements are not as frequent as before. However, during periods of less fetal movement, the number of fetal movements per hour should still be greater than 3 times (if it is less than 3 times/hour, add 1 hour, and 6 fetal movements in 2 hours will be enough). There is no need to be too anxious if there is a significant decrease in fetal movements. You can count the fetal movements anytime and anywhere, because the baby sometimes sleeps for a longer time, or the fetal movements are not very active. For example, if the fetal movement is not obvious in the morning, you can wait and see in the afternoon. If the fetal movement is normal in the afternoon, there is no need to rush to the hospital, and so on.

Third, the secretions increase. During pregnancy, the thick secretions accumulate at the cervical opening. Because they are very viscous, they usually block the cervical opening like a plug. However, when labor is approaching, the cervix swells and the plug will no longer work, and secretions will flow out. This phenomenon occurs a few days before or just before delivery.

Does the pain every few minutes mean that you are about to give birth? Above we have introduced the symptoms of labor for women. We recommend that you learn more about relevant knowledge during pregnancy, estimate the time of delivery, and make adequate preparations. Don't wait until you are about to give birth to learn about this knowledge. Sometimes, danger may occur due to lack of understanding of the situation. Finally, I wish everyone can give birth to their children safely.
