Six days after taking birth control pills, bloody vaginal discharge

Birth control pills are a method of contraception used by many people, especially the emergency contraceptive pill, which is used more frequently. However, taking the emergency pill is very harmful to women. Although the emergency pill can prevent pregnancy, it can cause hormone disorder in women's bodies. So, after taking birth control pills, blood appears in the leucorrhea. What is the reason?

1. Bloody vaginal discharge on the sixth day after taking birth control pills

Generally speaking, after taking emergency contraceptive pills, withdrawal bleeding or irregular menstruation may occur. It may also be caused by the sensitivity of the endometrium to the sex hormone components in emergency contraceptives.

2. Adverse reactions to contraceptive pills

Early pregnancy-like reactions to birth control pills: If nausea, vomiting, and picky eating occur after taking oral contraceptives, this is caused by the estrogen in the birth control pills stimulating the gastric mucosa. This is a temporary phenomenon, and once the gastric mucosa adapts to this stimulation, it will become a habit. People who have stronger reactions need to take some medication to control such reactions, such as vitamin B6 and scopolamine drugs, or eat foods rich in vitamin B6, such as lean meat, liver, egg yolks, etc., to shorten the discomfort process.

Menstrual disorders: Some people may experience menstrual disorders after taking oral contraceptives (especially short-acting contraceptives). Mild cases do not require treatment. Generally, if the amenorrhea lasts for more than two months, other contraceptive measures should be used. At the same time, 50 mg of chlorpheniramine should be taken every day for 5 consecutive days, and then for another 5 days in the next month. The condition will improve after taking it for 3 consecutive months.

Bleeding: Uterine bleeding may occur if you miss a dose of birth control pills for some reason. If it occurs in the first half of the menstrual cycle, you can take an additional 0.05-0.15 mg of ethinyl estradiol until you have taken 22 tablets; if it occurs in the second half of the menstrual cycle, you can take 0.5-1 tablet of birth control pill every night until you have taken 22 tablets. It would be better if you can eat some iron-rich foods such as animal liver and blood.

The appearance of pregnancy spots: Some women will develop pregnancy spots after taking birth control pills. In fact, this type of pigmentation is not unique to pregnancy, and it can occur when the estrogen and progesterone levels in the body are increasing at high rates. For this type of pigmentation, it will gradually fade away as long as you stop taking birth control pills. If you can add some fresh vegetables and fruits rich in vitamin C to your diet, such as green vegetables, cabbage, celery, tomatoes, oranges, and tangerines, the pigmentation spots will disappear faster.

3. Taboo Groups

Patients with the following diseases should not take contraceptives: acute hepatitis, nephritis, heart disease, hypertension, malignant tumors, benign breast lumps, uterine fibroids; breast cancer, genital cancer and any other cancers; diastolic blood pressure above 12kPa, severe headache; diabetes, epilepsy, mental illness and thromboembolic diseases (such as cerebral thrombosis, myocardial infarction, vasculitis), contraindications to taking contraceptives; those with a family history of diabetes, breastfeeding, before and after major surgery, blood vessel obstruction in the legs and lungs, suspected pregnancy or previous pregnancy with jaundice should not take contraceptives; women over 40 years old, women whose children are less than two years old after giving birth, and women who have smoking and drinking habits should take female oral contraceptives with caution.
