Why women fart in their vagina

Why women fart in their vagina

Many people will accidentally fart in their daily lives, but this is a very normal physiological phenomenon. However, many women will encounter such a situation, that is, the vagina sometimes makes a sound similar to fart. Many people think that it is because there is gas in the vagina and this is the exhaust. But is the reason for female vaginal farts really that simple? Let us take a look at the reasons below.

Gas is often discharged from the vagina, like a fart, and you cannot control it. In severe cases, there is a rustling sound and it is continuous. This is what Chinese medicine calls "vaginal flatulence." The vaginal flatulence mentioned in traditional Chinese medicine mostly refers to the relaxation of the vaginal wall and pelvic floor tissue and some neurosis. It often occurs in postpartum women who are physically weak, mentally depressed, and have poor qi circulation. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the pathogenesis of vaginal flatulence is mainly due to dysfunction of the spleen and stomach, which causes the failure of clear qi to rise and turbid yin to descend, resulting in disordered qi movement, downward leakage of stomach qi, and failure to follow the normal path, which forces the front vagina away and causes vaginal flatulence.

Reason 1: Postpartum physical weakness. Vaginal flatulence mostly occurs in postpartum women, especially multiparous women and those with weak constitutions. Chinese medicine regards it as "severe deficiency of qi and blood, and sinking of middle qi". To explore its mechanism, we have to start with the changes in the birth canal during delivery.

Although the vagina of a woman who has never given birth is shaped like a trumpet, wide inside and narrow outside, under normal circumstances, the pelvic floor muscles and fascia outside the vagina maintain a certain tension, which has a lifting effect on the vaginal wall, making the front and back walls of the vagina fit together, the lumen disappears, and the labia majora and minora on both sides of the vulva close, covering the vaginal opening, like two closed doors, preventing air from entering the vagina. During delivery, the fetus passes through the birth canal and the vagina expands and relaxes significantly. The muscle tissue and fascia that support the vaginal wall of the pelvic floor are broken or overstretched and lose elasticity. As a result, the front and back walls of the vagina cannot fit closely together and a cavity is formed. Perineal laceration causes the external opening of the vagina to open, making it unable to cover the vagina and allowing air to enter the vagina. This condition can usually be recovered during the postpartum period, but some women cannot fully recover, especially if the labor lasts too long, the fetus is large or the pelvis is narrow, making delivery difficult, or vaginal surgery such as forceps or vacuum extraction can cause severe damage to the pelvic floor tissue, making it difficult to recover. Due to repeated injuries to the birth canal, the vagina of multiparous women is naturally looser. For pregnant women with weak constitutions, even if the injuries are not serious, their recovery will be slower. In the above situation, when negative pressure is formed in the vagina (such as lying on your back, inhaling, etc.), the air enters the deepest part of the vagina (the dome). When you stand up or increase abdominal pressure, the air is discharged from the vagina, often with a sound.

The treatment of vaginal flatulence caused by this reason includes three aspects:

(1) Taking medicines that can greatly replenish qi and blood and improve the vital energy;

(2) Strengthen physical fitness and promote postpartum recovery

(3) Local muscle training: In addition to postpartum health exercises, focus on pelvic floor, anal and vaginal muscle contraction exercises to help restore the birth canal.

Reason 2: Vaginal infection: Some women with vaginitis may also experience vaginal gas discharge, but for these patients, the gas flow from the vagina is mostly weak, and the more important thing is increased leucorrhea, vulvar itching or vaginal discomfort. This is because the microorganisms that infect the vagina produce gas during the reproduction process and exist in the vagina. When the body position changes or the abdominal pressure increases, these gases are discharged from the vagina. Most of the pathogenic microorganisms are anaerobic bacteria or Trichomonas vaginalis. When this happens, you should go to the hospital to see a gynecologist and receive treatment under the guidance of a doctor.

Reason three: Rectovaginal fistula This is a less common reason. Due to the presence of an abnormal channel (fistula) between the rectum and vagina, when the anus is discharged, a small amount of gas enters the vagina through the fistula and then is discharged from the body. The cause of its occurrence can be congenital or acquired. The former is called congenital rectal-vaginal fistula, which exists at birth, so the symptoms appear from the neonatal stage; the latter mainly occurs from birth trauma, rectal or vaginal surgical trauma, or late-stage cancer necrosis of the diaphragm between the rectum and vagina. Symptoms appear shortly after delivery or surgery, or are accompanied by manifestations of advanced cancer (purulence and blood in the stool or vagina). In this case, you need to go to the hospital for examination, repair surgery or treatment of the cancer. Treatment method Western medicine method The female vagina is a tube composed of muscles. The muscles of the vaginal wall are called "PC muscles", which are called "love muscles" in France. The tension of the "love muscles" controls the quality of sex. The tension is actually controlled by the "elastic fibers" in the "love muscles", which support the elasticity of the vagina. Countless elastic fibers are called elastic nets, which trap the mucous membrane and folds, increase friction and produce touch. However, due to natural childbirth, excessive sexual behavior, and even abortion, the elastic fibers will break and atrophy, causing the muscles to relax, so that a large amount of gas is produced during the friction process. You can use Monisa-Za and external products with extension ingredients to release fiber repair elements in the vagina, penetrate into the love muscles to repair the elastic fibers of the vaginal wall, and after a period of use, the elastic fibers will be repaired, thereby naturally contracting the vagina and increasing the pleasure of contact. After the elastic fibers recover, the folds are effectively stretched, and friction will naturally not produce gas.

According to traditional Chinese medicine, patients with vaginal flatulence can be divided into three types according to their associated symptoms: qi deficiency, intestinal dryness, and liver depression, and the treatment can be carried out based on the syndrome differentiation.

Qi deficiency type: vaginal flatulence is intermittent, sometimes light and sometimes heavy, accompanied by fatigue, shortness of breath, sallow complexion, pale tongue, and weak pulse. This is due to weak spleen and stomach, insufficient middle qi, inability to circulate, and visceral qi not following the normal path, but going through side orifices and causing vaginal flatulence. The treatment should be aimed at invigorating Qi and raising clearness, and regulating the spleen and stomach. The prescription is modified Buzhong Yiqi Decoction: roasted Astragalus 30 grams, Codonopsis pilosula 20 grams, stir-fried Atractylodes macrocephala 15 grams, Angelica sinensis 15 grams, Cimicifuga heracleifolia 10 grams, Bupleurum 10 grams, Tangerine peel 10 grams, Citrus aurantium 10 grams, Costus root 10 grams, Linderae 10 grams, roasted Licorice root 10 grams. Take 1 dose daily, decoct in water and take in the morning and evening. Dry intestinal type: vaginal flatulence is severe and continuous, accompanied by constipation, thirst, fever, abdominal distension, yellow and greasy tongue coating, and a wiry and slippery pulse. This is due to heat accumulation in the stomach and intestines, obstruction of intestinal qi, downward leakage of stomach qi, which forces away the anterior vagina and causes vaginal flatulence. The treatment is aimed at moistening dryness, relieving constipation and regulating Qi. The prescription for treatment is Dachengqi Decoction combined with Zengye Decoction. Rhubarb (added later) 10g, Glauber's salt (taken with water) 10g, Citrus aurantium 10g, Radix Yuanshen 15g, Rehmannia glutinosa 15g, Ophiopogon japonicus 15g. Take one dose daily, decocted in water. After the bowel movement becomes smooth, remove the Glauber's salt and add 10 grams of Trichosanthes seed. Liver depression type: blowing sound in the vagina, accompanied by chest tightness, abdominal distension, distension and pain in the flanks, irritability, red tongue with yellow coating, and wiry pulse. The syndrome is characterized by emotional stagnation and poor flow of Qi. The treatment is aimed at soothing the liver, relieving depression, and regulating Qi. The prescription is Chaihu Shugan San with modifications: 15 grams of Bupleurum, 15 grams of Chuanxiong, 15 grams of Curcuma, 10 grams of Cyperus rotundus, 10 grams of Citrus aurantium, 20 grams of White Peony, 10 grams of Aucklandia, 15 grams of Toosendan fruit, and 10 grams of Licorice. Take one dose daily, decocted in water. For patients with vaginal flatulence, the prescription can be selected according to the above types of syndrome differentiation, and the disease can usually be cured within 5-7 days of treatment.
