Endometrial thickness after menstruation

Endometrial thickness after menstruation

After a girl starts having her first menstruation, she will have her menstruation every month except during pregnancy until her uterus ages. Menstruation is actually the shedding of the endometrium. Even if you are not pregnant, the endometrium will be shed once. The thickness of our endometrium is generally one to ten millimeters, and it will change accordingly during the menstrual period. This article introduces the issue of regulating endometrial thickness. Let’s take a look.

How to regulate endometrial thickness

1. Pay attention to keeping warm, especially when the weather is bad or during menstruation, pay attention to keeping your abdomen warm. If you catch a cold, it will affect your condition. Patients should also take care of their minds in normal times, avoid having large mood swings, adjust their mentality, and use a positive and optimistic attitude to treat the disease, which will also help regulate their endocrine system.

2. The diet should be light. In addition to being nutritious, you should also eat more foods that can replenish qi and blood, such as drinking soy milk, eating black fungus, black beans, sesame seeds, etc. Of course, you should also eat foods that can improve the thickness of the endometrium, such as kelp, soybeans, bananas, spinach, etc., which are of great help to the body.

3. Use Chinese medicine and diet therapy to regulate your body. For example, you can drink some cuttlefish bone stewed chicken. The method is to crush the cuttlefish bones and put them into the pot together with diced chicken and angelica, and then steam them before eating. You can also stew lotus seeds with dried lychees. First, remove the core of the lotus seeds and the shell of the dried lychees, and then put the lotus seeds and dried lychees into the pot and stew them. All of these can help regulate the body.

What is the normal thickness of the endometrium?

Generally speaking, the normal thickness is one to ten millimeters, but it will proliferate and fall off with changes in hormone levels, so its thickness changes accordingly with different periods of time. Generally speaking, the endometrium begins to proliferate after the end of menstruation, reaches its maximum value one day before menstruation, and then the functional layer and tissue blood flow out together. This process is called menstruation.

During the menstrual period, the thickness varies with the period. Doctors recommend that women go to the hospital for a vaginal B-ultrasound examination three days after the end of their menstrual period. The results can help them understand the thickness of the endometrium and whether there are any abnormalities. Generally speaking, a thickness of more than eight millimeters is abnormal. If the thickness is too thick, it will easily cause dysmenorrhea and hinder the smooth implantation of the fertilized egg; if the thickness is too thin, it will reduce the menstrual volume and even affect normal ovulation. When the examination results show abnormal thickness, appropriate treatment should be carried out immediately to avoid affecting fertility.

What to do if the endometrium is thick

First, curettage treatment for women in the reproductive period: Generally, one curettage can control bleeding. If bleeding still occurs after curettage, hysteroscopy and B-ultrasound examination should be performed to rule out submucosal fibroids or other organic lesions.

Second, the menopausal transition period: It is often anovulatory functional uterine bleeding. If the menstruation is infrequent and the blood volume is heavy or the bleeding time is long after curettage and hemostasis, progesterone treatment should be given every two months, and follow-up observation should be conducted after 3 cycles in total.

Third, in the late menopause: the patient should be asked whether to use estrogen replacement therapy alone. After curettage, the replacement therapy can be suspended or progestin can be added. Progestogens can inhibit estrogen-induced endometrial hyperplasia
