Hypothyroidism is a common physical disease for many people. It is more common in middle-aged people. Hypothyroidism can easily lead to fear of cold or dry skin. It can also easily lead to memory loss, abdominal distension and pain, or constipation. Hypothyroidism can be cured with timely treatment, and requires persistence and active treatment. Can hypothyroidism in women be cured? Women around 25 to 50 years old are a high-risk group for hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism can be completely cured if there are no serious complications. However, most hospitals that treat thyroid diseases currently use exogenous hormone supplements, which has no effect on the treatment of hypothyroidism. Instead, lifelong medication will make the patient's body dependent. There is a certain chance that traditional Chinese medicine can cure hypothyroidism, which has been repeatedly certified and recognized both in scientific research and clinical practice. Typical symptoms (1) Low basal metabolic rate symptoms: fatigue, dullness, slow movements, intellectual impairment, severe memory loss, drowsiness, lack of concentration, chills, fear of cold, dry and falling hair, slow beard growth in men, no sweating, and body temperature below normal. (2) Myxedema appearance: facial edema, loose and swollen eyelids, thickened nose and lips, dull expression, "dull" and "sluggish" and "mask-like" listlessness, loud hoarseness of the tongue, unclear articulation, slurred speech, and a few patients have exophthalmos. (3) Pale skin and thyroid hormone deficiency lead to a weakening of the conversion of subcutaneous carotene into vitamin A and the production of retinal by vitamin A. Plasma carotene levels are high and due to anemia, the skin is pale, waxy, rough, dull, dry, thick, cold, and scaly and keratinized, especially on the hands, arms, and thighs. A few patients gain weight. The nails grow slowly, are thick and brittle, and show cracks. (4) Female patients may experience menorrhagia, amenorrhea, sometimes amenorrhea with galactorrhea, male breast development, lactation, and early menarche in female patients. (5) Cardiovascular system symptoms include slow pulse, bradycardia, weakened heart sounds, enlarged heart borders, and significantly reduced cardiac output, often half of the normal value. Some patients are accompanied by pericardial effusion and high blood pressure, especially diastolic blood pressure. The electrocardiogram shows low-voltage inverted T waves, widened QRS waves, and prolonged PR interval. Long-term patients are prone to coronary heart disease, angina pectoris, and arrhythmias. (6) Psychoneural system: symptoms include mental fatigue, slow reaction, and decreased comprehension and memory. Vision, hearing, touch and smell are also dulled. Accompanied by dizziness, vertigo, and tinnitus. Numbness in hands and feet, abnormal pain sensation. The contraction phase of the tendon reflex is often quick and active, while the relaxation phase of the tendon reflex is delayed and the Achilles tendon reflex is diminished. Knee reflexes are mostly normal. (7) Muscles and bones: Muscles are loose and weak, mainly affecting the shoulders and back muscles. Some patients may experience temporary stiffness, cramps, or gear-like movements. There is spasmodic pain in the abdominal and dorsal muscles and gastrocnemius muscles, joint pain, and increased bone density (8) Respiratory system: Due to a combination of factors such as myxedema, obesity, congestion, pleural effusion and decreased circulatory system function, there will be rapid breathing, chest tightness and shortness of breath, and the diffusion capacity of carbon dioxide in the alveoli will be reduced, resulting in respiratory symptoms such as itchy throat, cough, and sputum, and even carbon dioxide narcosis. (9) Digestive system: Symptoms include poor appetite, loss of appetite, abdominal distension, constipation, intestinal rumbling, bloating, and even paralytic ileus. Many patients experience achlorhydria or even no gastric acid. In liver function tests, LDH, CPK, and SGOT may be elevated. (10) Endocrine system: Generally speaking, adrenal cortex function is lower than normal. Although there are no obvious clinical manifestations of adrenal insufficiency, ACTH secretion may be normal or decreased, ACTH stimulation test may be delayed, and blood and urine cortisol may be decreased. |
