There are many reasons for breast hyperplasia in women, such as its close relationship with endocrine disorders. In addition, if you often eat foods rich in estrogen, it will also lead to an imbalance of androgens and estrogens in the body, which can also easily lead to breast hyperplasia. In addition, many bad habits in daily life can also cause breast hyperplasia. For this breast disease, patients can adopt traditional acupuncture treatment. So what part should be acupunctured?

Which parts of the body are treated with acupuncture for breast hyperplasia?

1. Where should I apply acupuncture for breast hyperplasia?

1.1. Acupoint selection: Tanzhong, Wuyi, Hegu and Zusanli are the main acupoints. Those with liver depression and qi stagnation should be treated with Taichong; those with liver and kidney yin deficiency should be treated with Taixi; those with irregular menstruation should be treated with Sanyinjiao; those with chest tightness and pain should be treated with Waiguan.

1.2. Operation: Use Huatuo brand No. 28 1-1.5 inch filiform needle to obliquely insert the needle into the Tanzhong point toward the base of the breast, and also insert the needle into the Wuyi point obliquely toward the base of the breast; the remaining points are mainly inserted vertically. After twisting to obtain qi, the Tanzhong and Wuyi acupoints can be connected to the G6805-Ⅰ electroacupuncture instrument, using sparse and dense waves with an intensity that the patient can tolerate; the other acupoints are needled once every 10 minutes, with tonification or drainage according to the symptoms, with the needles retained for 20 minutes each time. 10 times constitute a course of treatment, with an interval of 3 to 5 days between courses; treatment is suspended during menstruation, and all other therapeutic drugs should be discontinued during the treatment.

1.3. Experience: The main symptoms of breast hyperplasia are pain and lumps. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that it is mainly caused by anger, liver damage, and worry that damages the spleen, which causes qi and blood to stagnate in the breasts and become a habit. Stagnation of Qi and blood causes pain. The main function of acupuncture is to dredge the Qi and blood, regulate menstruation and relieve pain, make the meridians unobstructed, and harmonize the Qi and blood, thereby achieving the effect of reducing swelling and dispersing stagnation.

2.2. When the elderly and infirm are treated with acupuncture, it is best to choose a lying position, because it is easier to select acupoints;

2.3. When a woman is pregnant, acupuncture must be performed gently, and acupuncture should never be performed on acupoints that can cause uterine contractions. Common acupoints of this type include Hegu, Sanyinjiao, Kunlun, etc.

2.4. If you are giving acupuncture to a child, if the child cries and refuses to cooperate, do not leave the needle in unless it is necessary;

2.5. When acupuncture is performed on infants and young children, the fontanelle, Fengfu, Yamen and other acupoints must not be needled;

2.6. Patients with bleeding disorders are advised not to undergo acupuncture;

2.7. Acupuncture cannot be performed on areas of the skin that have infections, tumors, etc.

2.8. The selection of acupuncture points, the angle and depth of acupuncture for special patients’ special parts require special attention, such as the abdomen of patients with intestinal adhesions, etc.

2.9. The most important thing to note about acupuncture is that acupuncture depends on the type of disease. You should choose acupuncture methods or other treatment methods based on the condition of the disease.

3. Who is not suitable for acupuncture?

3.1. Irreversible organic lesions and more serious organic lesions. For example, the efficacy of Alzheimer's disease caused by brain degeneration and brain atrophy in senile dementia is not obvious. Others include: obstructive hydrocephalus in children, brainstem motor neuron disease, brainstem stroke, hepatolenticular degeneration, pernicious anemia, sepsis, polycystic kidney disease, ovarian cysts, severe varicose veins, fracture dislocation, parasitic diseases, and mental illnesses.
