Can I dance during early pregnancy?

Pregnant women will experience tremendous physical changes, and these changes will affect their bodies. Therefore, it is very necessary for pregnant people to do proper exercise. Many pregnant women like some more complicated sports. For example, dancing is a sport that requires high interest and skills. Let’s take a look at whether you can dance in the early stages of pregnancy?

Try not to dance in the early stages of pregnancy. Things to note in the early stages of pregnancy:

Avoid radiation exposure: A large amount of research data shows that various types of radiation can cause chromosomal abnormalities or gene mutations, leading to fetal malformations, leukemia, malignant tumors or stillbirth. And the earlier the embryo, the more serious the harm. Therefore, pregnant women should avoid radiation exposure.

Avoid viral infection: There are more than 300 viruses related to human diseases discovered today, of which more than ten can pass through the placenta and harm the fetus, causing fetal malformation, intellectual disability, developmental delay, premature birth or stillbirth. The viruses with clear teratogenic effects include cytomegalovirus, influenza virus, herpes virus, measles virus, rubella virus, etc. Among them, rubella virus is the most harmful, not only easily causing congenital heart disease in the fetus, but also causing other congenital defects or abnormalities.

Avoid drug abuse: There are many commonly used drugs that can cause varying degrees of harm to the fetus. Drugs with clear teratogenic effects include: thalidomide, streptomycin, quinine, gentamicin, cephalosporin, tetracyclines, sulfonamides, estrogen, etc. There are also some drugs whose teratogenic effects are uncertain but have certain effects on the fetus, such as analgesics and antipyretics (aspirin, etc.), antiallergic drugs (diphenhydramine, chlorpheniramine, etc.), anti-epileptic drugs, antithyroid drugs, antidiabetic drugs and sedatives and sleeping pills. If you must take medication due to illness during pregnancy, you must do so under the guidance of a doctor and must not abuse it blindly.

Avoid smoking and drinking: Tobacco contains nicotine, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, tar and other toxic substances. If a pregnant woman smokes, the toxic substances can cause the blood vessels in the uterus and placenta to constrict, reducing blood flow and preventing the fetus from getting enough nutrients and oxygen. Carbon monoxide can combine with hemoglobin, causing normal hemoglobin to lose its ability to carry oxygen, thereby putting the fetus in a state of hypoxia and affecting its growth and development.
