Are there any differences between premenstrual symptoms and early pregnancy symptoms?

Before menstruation comes, women's bodies always have some abnormal reactions, especially the breasts and waist, which are more prone to pain. This is normal. If you always feel severe abdominal pain during menstruation, it is most likely a manifestation of dysmenorrhea, which requires timely treatment. However, some women say that they experience similar symptoms after pregnancy. So, what is the difference between premenstrual symptoms and early pregnancy symptoms?

Premenstrual symptoms

The symptoms before menstruation vary from person to person, and pre-menstrual symptoms usually recover on their own after the menstruation ends.

1. Mainly mental symptoms: common nervous sensitivity, irritability, general fatigue, sometimes causing headaches, insomnia, lack of concentration, etc.

2. Mainly physical symptoms: common symptoms include swelling of hands, feet and face, abdominal bloating, abdominal distension in some people, constipation in most girls, lower abdominal pain and breast pain, etc.

Symptoms of early pregnancy

Most people have no symptoms before pregnancy. The first symptom of early pregnancy is amenorrhea, followed by dizziness, fatigue, drowsiness, chills, loss of appetite, varying degrees of nausea, picky eating, preference for sour food or aversion to greasy food and special odors. Some people will experience changes in their appetite and hobbies, and vomiting may occur in severe cases. It may also be accompanied by subjective symptoms such as breast tenderness, darkening and tingling of the nipples and areolas, and frequent urination. Although early pregnancy reactions are different for everyone, these symptoms usually appear 6 weeks after the menstrual period ends and generally last until the 3rd month of pregnancy. Everyone's situation will be different, which is related to personal hormones. Some people's early pregnancy reactions last longer and may not disappear until 16-18 weeks.

Therefore, from the above we can see that the symptoms before menstruation and early pregnancy are still different. The most obvious difference is the duration. The symptoms before menstruation last for a short time and recover after menstruation, while the symptoms before early pregnancy will gradually ease until the third month of pregnancy. In addition, early pregnancy usually causes amenorrhea, which is obviously different from menstruation.
