Female exhibitionism

Female exhibitionism

Exhibitionism can be considered a mental illness, and there are exhibitionists among both men and women. Exhibitionism may be a primitive sexual behavior, or it may be caused by the patient's childhood experiences or personality defects. This kind of mental illness can also be treated through certain methods. Below, we will introduce in detail the causes, examination and treatment principles of female exhibitionism.

1. Causes and common diseases

The cause of exhibitionism is still unknown. The following are generally considered to be the causes of exhibitionism:

1. Primitive Sexual Behavior

From the perspective of racial and personality development, exhibitionism is a release of primitive sexual behavior.

2. Closely related to environment and childhood experiences

Unconsciously using childhood methods to relieve and vent adult troubles is one of the main reasons for sexual abnormalities and behaviors such as exhibitionism. The sexual psychology development of many exhibitionists is far from mature, and their childhood experiences still affect the way they satisfy their sexual desires as adults.

3. Character flaws

Personality and emotions often have a causal relationship with sexual abnormal psychology and behavior. Many exhibitionists have some kind of personality defects, especially incomplete sexual psychological development, which manifests as restrained, withdrawn, shy, and taciturn. They often use childish sexual behaviors to solve adult sexual problems.

2. Disease Examination

1. A tendency to repeatedly or persistently expose one's genitals to strangers (usually members of the opposite sex), almost always accompanied by sexual arousal and masturbation;

2. No desire or request to have sexual intercourse with the "exposed object";

3. This tendency has existed for at least 6 months.

3. Treatment principles

1. Aversion therapy induces the patient to imagine the act of exposing his genitals while giving him malignant stimulation, such as stimulating the wrists, skin and even genitals with electric current or rubber bands, or injecting emetics into the muscles to make him vomit, so as to destroy the patient's pathological conditioned reflexes and strengthen the inhibition until the established conditioned reflex disappears.

2. Cognitive insight therapy helps patients realize through counseling that mature sexual behavior satisfies sexual psychology through genital intercourse between the sexes. Any behavior that does not seek the opposite sex as an object or does not obtain the highest sexual psychological satisfaction through genital intercourse between the sexes is abnormal. With cognitive understanding, most patients can mature their sexual psychology and correct their abnormal sexual behaviors.
