Fever after pregnancy

Fever after pregnancy

Basically every woman will go through the process of pregnancy. Women will experience many symptoms during pregnancy. Most of these symptoms are relatively obvious, including body fever. Body fever is a relatively normal situation, but we should pay certain attention to this situation. So what is the reason for body fever after pregnancy?

Body temperature tends to rise after pregnancy. The high temperature period of a woman's menstrual cycle and the period of body temperature rise caused by pregnancy are almost the same period. If someone records their basal body temperature, it will be easy to tell. Usually the high temperature period will be 0.5℃ higher than the low temperature period, but if you are pregnant, it will be about 1℃ higher, so this can also be regarded as a symptom of pregnancy.

The effects of three hormones

A woman's body has a temperature cycle (this cycle includes ovulation). The high temperature period is about two weeks after ovulation, and then the low temperature period is about two weeks from the onset of menstruation to the next ovulation. This is due to the alternating hormonal balance that governs a woman's body before and after ovulation. After ovulation, the female body secretes more progesterone hormone and is in a high temperature period. This is to adjust the uterus to a state that is easy to get pregnant. This is a hormone that helps the uterus to maintain pregnancy easily after fertilization.

If the egg is not fertilized, then during the menstrual period, more estrogen hormone is secreted between menstruation and ovulation. The function of estrogen is to restore uterine fatigue caused by menstruation before the next ovulation, and it has the effect of adjusting the body condition.

Although this increase and decrease brings certain regular changes to the female body, once fertilization occurs, the hormonal balance will change. Moreover, in addition to these two hormones, human chorionic gonadotropin is also secreted after pregnancy, which is only secreted during pregnancy. This hormone increases the secretion of progesterone, which maintains the fertilized egg, so the body will continue to experience a high temperature period.

Increase of blood. Once the egg becomes fertilized, the amount of blood in the body increases. Therefore, even if you don't move your body, warm blood will flow throughout your body. This is also the reason why body temperature is slightly warmer than usual. Due to these effects, once you become pregnant, your body temperature will be slightly higher than the high temperature period after ovulation.
