What medicine should women take to treat frequent dreams?

The situation of dreaming too much happens to a wide range of people, including women. In fact, the symptoms of women and men are the same in a fundamental sense, and the causes of this situation are also the same. However, this disease can be treated. Women's dreaming too much is also treated with some special drugs. So what medicine can women take to regulate their dreaming?

Excessive dreaming refers to waking up from sleep with confused dreams, often accompanied by dizziness and fatigue. Traditional Chinese medicine often uses the following two methods to treat dreaminess.

(1) Syndrome differentiation and treatment ① Insufficiency of heart qi. Symptoms: frequent dreams, easy to be startled, insomnia, fatigue, shortness of breath, or easy to cry due to joy or sadness, mental confusion, pale tongue, thin white fur, and weak pulse.

Treatment method: Nourish blood and replenish qi, calm the mind and soothe the nerves. Prescription: Modified Shenxiang Powder. Medicines: 9g ginseng, 12g each of astragalus, poria, atractylodes, and yam, 6g each of lotus seeds, amomum, agarwood, sandalwood, and licorice.

②Insufficient heart blood. Symptoms: palpitations, restlessness, insomnia, frequent dreams and easy fright, forgetfulness and dizziness, sallow complexion, pale tongue and thin pulse.

Treatment method: Nourish blood and calm the mind. Prescription: Siwu Decoction combined with Rongshadan with modifications. Medicines: 12g each of Rehmannia glutinosa, Chinese angelica, white peony root, and Ligusticum chuanxiong, 6g each of deer antler and cinnabar, and 18g of stir-fried jujube kernels.

③Insufficient heart yin. Symptoms: palpitations, insomnia, hot flashes in the five parts of the body, dry throat and tongue, red tongue with little fluid, and thin and rapid pulse.

Treatment method: Nourish yin, replenish the heart and calm the mind. Prescription: Modified Yiqi Anshen Decoction. Medicines: 12g each of Angelica sinensis, Poria cocos, Ophiopogon japonicus, and Rehmannia glutinosa, 6g each of Coptis chinensis, Polygala tenuifolia, Bambusa officinalis, Ginseng, Astragalus membranaceus, Rhizoma Coptidis, and Lotus seed core, 18g of Ziziphus jujuba seed, and 3g of cinnabar.

④Disharmony between the heart and kidney. Symptoms: restlessness, insomnia, frequent dreams, spermatorrhea, sore waist and weak legs, hot flashes and night sweats, red tongue without coating, and weak and rapid pulse.

Treatment method: Connect the heart and kidneys. Prescription: Huanglian Ejiao Decoction with modifications. Medicines: 9g each of Coptis chinensis, Scutellaria baicalensis, White Peony Root, and donkey-hide gelatin, 1 egg yolk, and 12g of dragon bone.

⑤ Deficiency of heart and gallbladder qi. Symptoms: palpitations, restlessness, timidity and fear, frequent dreams at night, chest tightness and shortness of breath, pale tongue, thin white fur, and thin, stringy and weak pulse.

Treatment method: Nourish the heart and replenish qi, strengthen courage and calm the nerves. Prescription: Pingbu Zhenxin Dan. Medicines: 12g each of Chinese jujube seeds and dragon teeth, 9g each of plantain seeds, poria, ophiopogon, poria, asparagus, rehmannia, and yam, 6g each of schisandra, polygala, and ginseng, 3g each of cinnamon, cinnamon bark, and licorice.

⑥ Deficiency of both heart and spleen. Symptoms: palpitations, forgetfulness, insomnia and frequent dreams, shortness of breath and fatigue, sallow complexion, poor appetite and lethargy, abdominal distension and loose stools, pale and tender tongue, white fur, and thready and weak pulse.

Treatment method: Nourish the heart and spleen. Prescription: Guipi Decoction. Medicines: 6g each of ginseng, polygala, and costus root, 9g each of astragalus, atractylodes, angelica, poria, spiny jujube seeds, and longan pulp, and 3g of roasted licorice.

⑦ Internal disturbance caused by phlegm and fire. Symptoms: disturbed dreams, dizziness, palpitations, irritability, excessive phlegm and chest tightness, red tongue, yellow and greasy tongue coating, and slippery and rapid pulse.

Treatment method: clear away heat and resolve phlegm. Prescription: Coptis chinensis warms the gallbladder and intestines with modifications. Medicines: 6g of Coptis chinensis, 9g each of Pinellia ternata, Tangerine peel, Poria cocos, Rhizoma Anemarrhenae, and Immature Citrus aurantium, 3g each of Licorice and ginger, 5 jujubes, and 12g of mother of pearl.
