Biopsy results for chronic cervicitis?

In daily life, female friends will encounter various gynecological diseases. Chronic cervicitis is one of the more common gynecological inflammations. The most obvious symptom of cervicitis in women is excessive vaginal discharge, which is often easily ignored and most people don’t take it seriously. Therefore, chronic cervicitis is easy to be delayed in the early stages, and the treatment will increase the difficulty when the disease becomes serious.

If the biopsy result is a disease such as chronic cervicitis, the patient should receive timely treatment. In terms of treatment, local treatment is generally the main focus, and different treatment plans are adopted according to the severity of local inflammation. The first thing patients need is various gynecological examinations so that the right medicine can be prescribed.

The most commonly used treatments for chronic cervicitis are vaginal lavage and vaginal medication. Simply put, it is to perform vaginal cleaning and bacterial disinfection once, and then apply medicine to the inflamed area. You can also use Chinese herbal lotions for treatment, which is suitable for various acute and chronic cervicitis.

If chronic cervicitis is more serious, physical therapy can be adopted. Clinically, the main treatment methods used are laser, shortwave, freezing, infrared coagulation, and microwave. It mainly uses microwaves to destroy the single-layer columnar epithelium on the surface of the cervix, causing the scab to fall off and then be covered by new stratified squamous epithelium for recovery.

Patients need to go to the hospital for regular checkups, mainly to avoid the recurrence of chronic cervicitis. Then you must pay attention to the cleanliness of the genitals. During the treatment, it is best not to have sexual intercourse or go swimming. It is best to take a shower instead of a bath.

What are the symptoms of chronic cervicitis?

(1) Increased vaginal discharge: Sometimes it is the only symptom of chronic cervicitis. It is usually thick mucus or purulent mucus. Sometimes the secretions may contain blood or a small amount of blood, and there may also be contact bleeding. Vulvar itching may be caused by irritation from leucorrhea.

(ii) Pain: Pain often occurs in the lower abdomen or lumbosacral region. Sometimes the pain may occur in the upper abdomen, thighs and hip joints. The pain worsens during menstruation, bowel movements or sexual intercourse. In particular, when the inflammation extends posteriorly along the uterosacral ligament or spreads along the bottom of the broad ligament, chronic parauterine connective tissue inflammation is formed. The pain is even more severe when the cardinal ligament of the cervix thickens. Whenever the cervix is touched, it immediately causes pain in the iliac fossa and lumbosacral region. Some patients may even experience nausea, affecting their sexual life.

(III) Bladder and intestinal symptoms: Chronic cervicitis can spread through the lymphatic channels or directly spread to the bladder trigone or the connective tissue around the bladder. As a result, as soon as there is urine in the bladder, there will be an urge to defecate, and symptoms of frequent urination or difficulty urinating will appear, but the urine is clear and the routine urine test is normal. In some cases, the inflammation continues to spread or through the lymphatic pathways connecting the cervix, bladder trigone, and ureters, causing secondary urinary tract infection. The incidence of chronic pyelonephritis in adult women is many times higher than that in men, which may be related to this situation.

Intestinal symptoms are less common than bladder symptoms, and some patients experience pain during bowel movements.

(iv) Other symptoms: such as irregular menstruation, dysmenorrhea, pelvic heaviness, infertility, etc.
