Symptoms of uterine fibroids compressing the rectum

Although the medical community has not yet been able to confirm the root cause of uterine fibroids. However, it is undeniable that no matter what the cause of uterine fibroids is, once you have it, it will inevitably cause great side effects to the body. For example, it may compress the rectum, causing symptoms such as frequent urination, or affect women's endocrine system and cause abnormal leucorrhea. So what are the symptoms of uterine fibroids compressing the rectum?

Will uterine fibroids compress the rectum?

Uterine fibroids compress the rectum and cause defecation problems. They can also compress the bladder or urethra, causing frequent urination and urination problems. Patients may feel severe abdominal pain, accompanied by nausea, vomiting, fever, leukocytosis, and radiating pain due to tumor compression of nerves. In addition, uterine fibroids can also cause the following harm:

Vaginal bleeding: A common symptom of uterine fibroids, characterized by excessive menstrual flow, shortened and irregular cycles, and prolonged duration. According to the location of the fibroids, intramural fibroids and submucosal fibroids are most likely to cause uterine bleeding, while subserosal fibroids are less likely to cause menstrual changes.

Abdominal mass: When the fibroids grow larger, a mass can be felt in the lower abdomen, especially when the bladder is full and the position of the uterus rises, making the mass more obvious.

Other concurrent diseases:

1. Infection and suppuration: Fibroid infection is often the result of tumor pedicle torsion or acute endometritis. Hematogenous infection is extremely rare. The infection may sometimes be purulent, and in a few cases, abscesses may form in the tumor tissue.

2. Torsion: Subserosal fibroids may twist at the pedicle, causing acute abdominal pain.

3. Uterine fibroids combined with uterine body cancer: The incidence of uterine fibroids combined with uterine body cancer is 2%, which is much higher than that of uterine fibroids combined with cervical cancer. Uterine fibroids complicated by pregnancy.

Causes of uterine fibroids

1. Excessive secretion of estrogen

The endocrine system maintains normal levels of hormones in the body, but this balance can easily be disrupted under the influence of certain external factors. Compared with women of other age groups, women of childbearing age may be exposed to more external stimuli, such as frequently taking birth control pills, diet pills, frequently using whitening skin products, or coming into contact with objects contaminated by radiation, etc. These may cause uterine fibroids.

2. Disharmony in sexual life

If there are long-term problems in the sexual life of a couple, it will also affect the level of hormone secretion in the body, leading to chronic congestion of the uterus, and posing a hidden danger of inducing uterine fibroids.

3. Genetic causes

According to the latest research data, about 20% of patients with uterine fibroids have individual chromosomes that are different from normal people, so genetic causes cannot be ruled out for uterine fibroids in some patients.

4. Never had children

The childbearing process is also a process for women to gain natural immunity to gynecological diseases. From pregnancy to the first menstruation during breastfeeding, the expectant mother will not have menstruation for at least a year. The hormone levels related to the ovaries will continue to be low, and the uterus will basically not get any disease due to endocrine reasons. However, such a "rest period" cannot be experienced by women who have not given birth. These women are prone to hormone-dependent diseases, including uterine fibroids.
