Why do nipples itch?

Breasts are a special part of the body that is unique to women. Since people are sensitive to the word "breasts", many women are embarrassed to talk about it when they have some problems with their breasts. Itchy nipples are a relatively private issue, which makes many women even more embarrassed to talk about it. There are many reasons for itchy nipples, so we need to find out the causes of itchy nipples and then relieve and treat them.

Why are nipples itchy?

1. There are many reasons for itchy nipples. Since nipples belong to the liver, the liver is mainly responsible for itchy nipples. The main causes of nipple itching are qi stagnation, blood stasis and qi and blood deficiency. It manifests in women experiencing unbearable nipple itching or pain before, during or after menstruation, which makes them unable to wear clothes. The itching gradually improves after the period ends. This is also called "nipple itching and pain during menstruation."

2. Nipple itching is caused by an allergic reaction to certain materials due to the influence of clothing on the one hand, and by the influence of endocrine system on the other hand. It is generally related to the skin, and occasional itching does not mean any problem.

3. Some people experience mild itching on the nipples, but the itching is tolerable. It is normal when it is not accompanied by a rash and can be relieved by itself.

How to prevent itchy nipples

Treatment of this disease should start with prevention.

1. Suspected allergic factors should be eliminated, and foreign proteins such as fish and shrimp, and irritating foods such as alcohol and chili peppers should not be eaten; avoid severe scratching and hot water washing, and keep the area clean; do not wear bras made of chemical fiber fabrics, and apply corticosteroid ointment under the guidance of a doctor.

2. Excessive cleanliness will affect the normal physiological needs of the skin, just like soil without fertilizer. Proper hygiene and cleaning will only do the job. The damage to the oil layer on the surface of the skin can also be one of the causes of skin itching. You need to change the cleaning methods and ways. As long as the skin is not too greasy, you will be comfortable.

3. If your stomach function is good, please eat more slightly acidic fruits to help control excessive fat overflow.

4. Secondly, use bath soap that suits your skin type to clean your skin. Do not use shower gel, because shower gel is not suitable for all skin types.

5. If you feel burning, itching, or dull pain in the areola, or even pus or lumps, you should be alert to the possibility of eczematous breast cancer. You should go to the hospital as soon as possible to have a detailed examination by the obstetrics and gynecology department.
