During menstruation, sexual intercourse should be strictly avoided, otherwise there will be some adverse consequences:

1. When women have menstruation, endometrial bleeding occurs, part of the endometrium ruptures and falls off, and some blood vessels are exposed. Sexual intercourse at this time will increase the amount of menstruation after local stimulation, or even prolong the menstrual period, aggravating the discomfort symptoms of menstruation.

2. Sexual intercourse at this time is very likely to cause bacterial infection. The endometrium sheds during menstruation to form wounds, and the cervix is ​​also slightly dilated. In addition, due to the discharge of menstrual blood, the acidic environment in the vagina is diluted, and the vagina's self-cleaning ability is weakened. During sexual intercourse at this time, the male genitals will bring bacteria into the endometrium, infecting the pelvic inflammation and causing pain to the woman. Some women will have a relapse a few days after the menstruation is over. In this case, you should pay more attention to avoid sexual intercourse contamination. In addition, you should also pay attention to not having sexual intercourse during menstruation even if you use condoms, because condoms can only prevent sperm from entering the vagina, but cannot prevent bacteria from entering the vagina, so doing so is also harmful.

3. During sexual intercourse during menstruation, the female menstrual secretions enter the male urethra, causing urethral irritation in men.

4. Having sex during menstruation may lead to infertility. Because sperms meet the damaged endometrium and overflowing blood cells, and even enter the blood, it can cause allergies in the immune cells during menstruation and stimulate the body to produce anti-sperm antibodies.

Having sex during menstruation can easily allow bacteria to enter the vagina, which may infect the endometrium, and may also affect the fallopian tubes and pelvic organs. At the same time, menstrual secretions entering the male urethra may also cause male urethritis. Therefore, it is not recommended for couples to have sex during menstruation.

Generally speaking, we do not recommend having sexual intercourse during menstruation. Why? Because during menstruation, there is menstrual blood, and sexual intercourse is not very convenient. Also, the pelvic cavity is more congested during menstruation. Theoretically, there is a possibility of pelvic infection after sexual intercourse.
