Is there something dirty in your nipple?

Starting from the time women become pregnant, expectant mothers will find dirt on their nipples. In fact, this is a normal phenomenon. It is the secretion of the nipples. Generally, women will still have secretions on their nipples after giving birth and during the lactation period. In fact, as long as you keep the nipples clean to prevent nipple secretions from blocking the secretion of milk and causing acute mastitis, you don’t need to worry too much as long as there are no discomfort symptoms on the nipples.

Nipple secretions are mainly caused by metabolism. Waste accumulates in the nipple or nipple pore, making the nipple pore blocked. It is generally a paste, such as white, yellow, or black. If toxins are not discharged in time, they accumulate too much and form bumps on the areola or even inverted nipples. Inverted nipples are a sign of breast cancer. If a woman does not drain her milk completely after weaning, the milk will deteriorate over time and form pus, or even bloody pus or black water. If it is not drained in time, the entire breast tissue will become diseased or even cancerous. The discharged fluid, such as pus, brown water, blood pus, black water, etc., must be paid attention to if such discharge occurs, because such symptoms are early signs of breast cancer. The other is a paste, such as yellow, brown, and black, which have a higher chance of becoming cancerous.

After the discharge, the first thing that happens is that the mammary ducts are unblocked, restoring their normal function, transporting nutrients and expelling toxins, and then the entire breast tissue is in a normal state, activating mammary cells, fat cells, and fibroblasts, giving the breasts a new state of vitality. After the cells are nourished, the breasts' ability to absorb fat will be enhanced, resulting in a plump, beautiful and healthy appearance.

In short, many breastfeeding mothers find that some dirt can be squeezed out of their breasts after weaning. In this case, we need to clear the mammary ducts! This can make our breasts healthier.

It is normal to have small bumps on the areola, but sometimes it is also a basic sign of some gynecological diseases:

1. Small bumps on the areola may be neurofibromas: they are often part of systemic fibromatosis, with groups of soft or light brown-pigmented pendulous tumors growing from the nipple and areola area, causing no discomfort. The body surface is often covered with scattered tumor-like masses and pigmented spots. Surgical removal is usually not required. If the tumor is large, ulcerated, or unsightly, it can be removed individually.

2. Small bumps on the areola may be breast lipoma: it is the most common benign tumor on the body surface. It can occur in any structure with adipose tissue, but is most common on the body surface and in the breast. It mostly occurs in obese female patients, and the age of onset is mostly between 30 and 50 years old. The main manifestations are single, round or lobed soft masses with clear boundaries, slow growth, and very few malignant changes. Treatment is mainly surgical resection. However, the surgery should be thorough; if there is any residue, it will inevitably cause recurrence. The resected tissue should be sent for pathological examination to avoid missed diagnosis due to the combination of other tumors.

3. Small bumps on the areola may be soft fibroma: also known as skin tags, fibroepithelial papilloma or fibrolipoma. It often occurs in the nipple area. The surface of the tumor is basically consistent with the surrounding skin. It is connected to the skin by a pedicle and has a soft texture. If the skin tag is large and unsightly, it should be removed from the pedicle, including some normal tissue.
